• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Same here John. It started a few of days ago.

Personally I find that feature distracting, so I disabled it. I actually originally had it turned off but my programmer turned it on at some point, thinking I just had accidentally done so. Just didn't have enough incentive to go in and find that setting to disable it again until recently.

Sorry.....

I like the feature on some of the other boards I frequent. It allows me to see what the thread is about without actually clicking on it, some people are very vague in their titles.

would there be a way to make it an Option instead? instead of an Always on, always off thing.

So, it can be by Default Off, but a user can go in and turn the feature on if they like it?

I personally liked this feature as well, so if there would be a way to do that, i would be really happy! :)

another solution

If you use Mozilla then try downloading the add-on called CoolIris which allows this in a much better manner. I think it may be available for the newest version of IE but am not certain as I quit using that browser many months ago.

I am a fan of this feature as well. Would love to see it as an option in the control panel if possible.

yeah, thats why i say it should be an option to choose from. Some people like it, while others such as yourself, dont enjoy the feature.

What do you say rich? do you think this could be a possibility?

I'm fairly certain that it is an administrative option in vBulletin, as in it is set in the administrator's control panel to be on or off site-wide, as opposed to a user option.

It would take custom coding to implement. Not in the cards, unfortunately, for this outdated version of vBulletin.... Sorry.
