    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a baby speckled king snake. It is about 2 weeks old. I have put small crickets in there and he doesn't seem interested in them. Don't want him to starve.

Did a pet store happen to tell you to use crickets? I'm not up on kings but I've never heard of one eating crickets. There are insect eating snakes but I really doubt kings fall into the catagory.

Try using day old pink mice , you may have to scent them with frogs or lizards but it'll eat the mouse over the crickets anyday. The typical diet of a king is frogs , lizards , mice and other snakes.

Did you buy this snake without researching its needs or did you happen to catch one and thought it'd be cool to see if you can keep it? If you bought it without research then STOP DOING THAT !!!! If you caught it then let it go.

Well, I did do some research. I have several snakes and raised them from babies. Like you I am not really into kingsnakes but thought I had a opportunity to get a fresh baby, and took it. My local pet store currently doesn't have any pinkies that small. Snakes in the wild will generally eat whatever they can. Thus, the crickets. Was just looking for some ideas and suggestions. Thanks for your help though, appreciate it.

Aaron try a anole or a skink,or try a different store and get a pink for it.Most pet stores have mice supliers that can get you some try getting a dozen or so and freeze some up for later eating. Remenber to thaw them out frist.Ron
