Hello, my name is Sara. I live in South Florida,
I do not have my license yet, but I have all of the forms and everything so I can get it.
I was just wondering if you still have the baby lemur, and if so, how old is he now?
Also, what is the lowest price you are willing to accept for him?
If you please send me some pictures and everything, that would be great.
Please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Thanks!

Hi Sara,
yes, i still have the lemur baby - he was born in early April. I'd say he's not quite half adult weight so he's definitely not grown up yet, nor a tiny baby(care of younger ones is best left to those very experienced in primates anyhow). I'd consider him a juvenile. He has a great personality. The cheapest price i would consider is $1000, which is well below market value for a young lemur - but i would like to see him at his permanent home soon. If interested, obviously you would need to leave a deposit to ensure he is available when you get your permit back. Serious inquiries of course are welcome to see him before leaving a deposit.
Just let me know -
Thanks,
Mark

$1000 is a great price. I'd definitely like to see him before leaving a deposit. I already got scammed for a small amount. What amount would you like for a deposit?
I won't be able to drive up to see you until after Christmas. But would you be available sometime between Christmas and New Years?
I'm still filling out the paperwork for the permit.

Oh, do you have pictures available so I can see him before driving up there?

Typically i do a 50% deposit to illustrate commitment. If an inquiry is serious i'm happy to take new photos, but you aren't even talking about coming to see him for nearly a month. And after that it usually takes 2 - 4 wks to get your permit back. So it sounds like you wouldn't even be picking him up for nearly 2 mths? There's always the good chance he'd be sold in a mth's time anyway. At the low price i gave you, all i can tell you is you'd need to be more serious about seeing him and leaving a deposit in the next wk or two. Or take your chances and wait a month?
Thanks, Mark

I'm very serious about buying him. I'm sending out the paperwork for the permit either today or tomorrow, as soon as I get a chance. I was hoping that I would recieve the permit within two weeks so that I could pay in full and take him home when I come up there.
Believe me, I would love to come up there right now. However, there are complications at home that make it very difficult for me to come up there before the holidays. I'm still trying to arrange it so that I can come up next saturday, the 15th (if that day would work for you, of course). I cannot promise that I will be able to come up before Christmas, but I'm doing everything I can.
I cannot easily express in an email how very much I want to buy the lemur from you. I can promise a very good and loving home for him down here with me.
I will get back to you as soon as possible and let you know if I will be able to make it up there on the 15th.

Hey Mark,
It just occurred to me that I never asked if you were a licensed dealer for lemurs. I just need to verify for legal purposes.
Thanks!

Hi Sara,
I have had an exhibitors license with FL wildlife for all 3 classes of wildlife since 1992. With that i have the capacity to exhibit/possess/buy/sell any of the above. Fortunately for buyers(and my animals), I am not a "dealer" per se nor licensed as such since i do not sell animals in any capacity. Just on the occasion my ringtailed lemur pair have babies, i find them good homes. The reason I say that's fortunate for the buyer is being a professional trainer all my animals receive plenty of attention and are raised properly so they are better adjusted. Just be sure to give me notice if you are able to come Dec 15th, so i'm able to plan accordingly. I do know there are no plans for leaving during the holidays. It definitely would be more convenient for you to come see him/take him home in one trip, but don't think you'll be able due to the permitting. Where are you located?
Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark,
I've tried arranging things so that I can make it up there next weekend, but I'm afraid that it's just not possible for me.
I will be able to come up either the 27th or 28th, but thats as early as I can manage.
I do understand if another person wishes to buy him from you at an earlier time.
I live in Plantation. It's just outside of Fort Lauderdale.

Hi Sara,
I'm guessing you're doing a different application from a pet permit or haven't done it yet - normally you must list who you are getting your animal from.
Just let me know once you figure things out, maybe the lemur will still be here.
Mark
