    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dont know what to do about new gecko losing his tail

Please help!! My son just received a second leopard gecko from a friend of mine a week ago and has been living, i assumed just fine with the other leopard gecko we have. The new gecko is older and larger but tonight his tail came off and I'm not sure why or how to care for it or what will happen next. Do I remove him from the other gecko and get a second cage? Will the tail grow back? Is the new one sick??? Please help!!!
 
IF both are males, they may well be fighting in which case you will need a second cage.

There are a lot of reasons it may be missing if both are not males.

The other one going for food and biting the tail by mistake, getting stuck in something, fear, even stress.

If the gecko was healthy to begin with you don't need to do anything for it. They are capable of healing themselves. It will never look as good as the original or have the same shape but the lizard should be just fine.

If you could post pics, especially of the vents , that would be helpful too.
