    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone had any experiences w/ VetRx to treat respiratory ailments? My herp vet is a 2hr drive and I have heard about this product to treat respiratory issues in their very early stages.

I have already raised temps and humidity (I know there are differences of opinion w/ humidity...this is not what this thread is about), and I'm waiting for the vet to return my call on this product, but I'd like any input from any here who have used it.

Again, this is very early on regarding symptoms. I just noticed I was able to hear one of my BHP's breathing, and I believe it is due to the dry heat in winter. This is not meant as a substitute for veterinary care, but rather an interim remedy until I can get her there (if needed).

Any input is appreciated.
 
I haven't had any experience with the product, but it looks like a bunch of aromatic oils in an alcohol base. If your vet isn't familiar with the product, make sure you give him/her a rundown of the ingredients.
 
Thanks for the response, Harald. I checked w/ the vet and while he is not familiar w/ the product itself, I gave him the list of ingredients and he said it sounds fine to try as a natural remedy. My BHP already seems fine without it (most likely just a case of a dry breathing passage), but will keep it on hand in case it should be needed in the future.
 
Glad to hear he sounds better - the winter dryness can be tough, especially when a snake is entering a shed cycle. (I've been having a tough time keeping my one room over 35% rh - I REALLY don't want to put a humidifier in there, so I switched everybody to particulate substrate...and ended up with a bunch of wood mites crawling around. Dumped all the particulate crap, treated, and now room stays dry til the humidity comes up on its own. Maybe that's why I have a bunch of bowl tippers, lol))
