In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi I recently heard that Plug in air freshners can be bad for reptiles lungs over a course of time. Can anyone give there point of view on these plug-ins X airfreshners?

Hello

Hello,

That is a good question. I honestly am not positive as I have used them, but not in the same room with our reptiles.
Anything in the way of fumes, aerosols, etc, over long periods of time is not good for them to inhale on a regular basis.
Not sure if that helps much or not.

basically, to the best of my knowledge.. anything that gives off an odor is bad.

candles, air fresheners, perfumes, incense, Teflon(when heated gives off toxic particles) all that stuff.. birds die all the time from it, so I would think reptiles would also.

and I know, birds and reptiles are different, I just mean that they are small and could be more sensitive

wow you guys make soo much sense. The plug in will be removed A.S.A.P. Thanks. There are soo many people telling me the same thing.

There has been a lot of talk both ways on these things....I think a lot of it was hype, but I can see where it would be a concern if it is used in a small confined area. I use them in my kitchen, and have never had any issues, but would hesitate to put them into a closed room with animals.

I've looked for any actual hard data on this before, and well......still haven't found anything other than a lot of "my friend told me that they are bad"....but I guess it's still enough to make me leary of them in a confined area.

Hello

Hello,

I agree, I have not found any research "data" on it either. You are right though, that reptiles are very sensitive to things like odors, fumes, etc, so it would probably be a good idea to take it out of the room.
If you are concerned about any smells, etc, try using a box of baking soda, placed somewhere that will absorb odors. It works pretty well.
