    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I would like to know if anyone has any business experience with Mike Roberts of El Dorado Reptiles in Florida.

Seems like a normal importer

I ended up buying some animals and they were o.k. They were kept in inadequate enclosures but that is pretty typical for most importers. All in all I got a decent deal.

Tracy do you have an update? How are they a couple months later? What did you buy? I am looking at several tortoises.
Im concerned about the "inadequate enclosures" since I am obviously thinking of WC animals from a direct importer. He seems to have a institution in Guyana. I am willing to work with the animals and acclimate them but If you have first hand knowledge of the enclosures I think it might give me a better idea of the commitment I might be making. Vet costs get expensive, LOL
 
From what little I know, Mike Roberts died last Friday night ( July 31st ). Not too much is known on the hows and whys, or what's going to happen with his animals here, or his holding station in Guyana

Mike was a friend of mine and a great supplier to me in past years . Has anyone heard anything about how acurate this information is? I just emailed with him a few weeks back. Please post any updated!

Michael J. Roberts
Michael J. Roberts, Melbourne, Fla., passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at Wuesthoff Medical Center. He was 40 years old. Mike was born in Minnesota on Jan. 4, 1969. At age 3, he moved to Florida. Mike was a graduate of Satellite Beach High School, Brevard Community College and Northern Alabama University, where he majored in journalism.

He pursued a career in missionary work in Guyana, South America. A great lover of the outdoors and animal life, he created a wildlife export business and led fishing tours in the Amazon River Basin. In 2007, he returned to the United States so that his son, Jonathan, could be educated here and continued his export-import business.

Mike is survived by his son, Jonathan Roberts, of Melbourne; his parents, David and Toni Roberts, of Melbourne; and his sister, Ellen Carleton, of Duluth, Ga.

Services will be private and held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to South Brevard Humane Society, 2600 Otter Creek Lane, Melbourne, FL 32940.
