    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Geochelone carbonaria “Barbados Giant Red-Foot Tortoise”

Extremely rare in the U.S. hobby!!! The Barbados morph are the true giants of this species! CITES approved.

"Barbados redfoots are the OLDEST captive-bred stock of this species of tortoise on Earth, since 1850 a few dozen (but no-one knows from where the first ones came) were imported and given to the then British Governor of the island as pets- and ALL here now descend from his pets, at first only the rich upper class got offspring from the Governors colony which they kept as pets, then the middle class got them as pets from the upper class about 1950, then the poor class got them as pets from the middle class since about 1975 - now everyone keeps them as pets."

The Barbados morph develops unique coloration/markings as well a dome carapacial shape. Maximum sizes for this giant morph: males to 18" and females to 15".

CB unsexed juveniles (and/or sexed males/females) 4”-5”, $195+ shipping cost

CB young, 7"-8" adult females, $250 + shipping cost

Pics attached are Barbados red-foots grown up from 3" back in 1999. These pics represent this special red-foot well.

Revised ad & new pic

Geochelone carbonaria “Red-Foot Tortoise” (BARBADOS captive-born and CITES-approved)

"Barbados red-foots are the OLDEST captive-bred stock of this species of tortoise on Earth. In 1850, a few dozen of the Northern Red-foots (from Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela and Colombia) were imported and given to the then British Governor of the island as pets- and ALL red-foots on Barbados now descend from his pets. At first, only the rich upper class got offspring from the Governors colony which they kept as pets. Then the middle class got them as pets from the upper class about 1950, then the poor class got them as pets from the middle class since about 1975 - now everyone keeps them as pets."

Some red-foot tortoise hobbyists have reported that the Barbados stock develops unique coloration/markings as well a dome carapacial shape and their maximum sizes for the Barbados stock: males to 18" and females to 15" which is a few inches more than normal red-foots. Some argue about this, but check out the pic taken in Barbados of a large, adult male with a 4 yr. child riding on top of him. (See attached pic to this ad).
