Over the years, I feel that I have pretty darn lenient with people on this site who take it upon themselves to try to give me grief. Yeah, I would often bicker back at them, and sometimes temporary bans might take place when things get out of hand. But realistically, when I think back on it, how many temporary bans really accomplished anything? Typically anyone who got a rash at this site or towards me, normally keeps that rash festering, albeit suppressed for a time, until it tends to surface eventually.
Recently I banned a couple of people. One for his conduct in the forums, and another for his conduct via private messages. Those bans are permanent. Good bye. Too bad, so sad. They are out of my life here. Used to be it bothered me quite a bit to ban someone from this site, but lately, (going back a while to when Wilomn was banned), that just doesn't seem to be the case any longer. Matter of fact, lately I have felt relief, much like popping an Excedrin that has instant action with relief from a nagging headache I've had for days.
So I guess at this stage of my life, ridding myself of *_________* (please fill in the colorful descriptor you would like there) is actually a good thing for me to be doing. Now this really mostly applies to people who will take it on themselves to badger me personally or this site in particular. That does not apply to legitimate gripes and complaints here in the feedback forum, of course, since that is what this forum is for. But I still expect those comments to not be overly disrespectful and with at least a modest amount of good taste. I am not requiring respect, but I am a whole lot less tolerant of disrespect.
I will also be pretty sensitive about trying to end this sort of crap from being thrown at my moderators, so any abuse I see along those lines (unless a moderator acts as a regular member and asks for the abuse by engaging in that kind of discussion) will be dealt with in like kind as well.
Yeah, I know there are more sites out there then you can shake a stick at these days. That's fine, and I really don't care. If I ban someone and they find a new home that they are happy with and is happy to have them, then everyone is happy. Especially me, since they aren't my problem any longer. Maybe the problem was just that they couldn't get along with me and I with them, but as far as I am concerned, that problem has now been solved.
So in a nutshell, anyone who wants to be another headache to me, please keep in mind that the Excedrin to cure myself of you is only a few mouse clicks away. Just make certain you are willing to accept the consequences before you take that step, please.
