Ok, I am going to be getting my first hognose from Jay Fisher soon:)

I know how to set up the proper enclosure and everything but I was confused about something. People that take care of these say their is 3 ways to heat a western hognose. 1 is by thermostat and heat mat (the one im going to do), 2 is a heat emitter at one end of the cage for a basking spot, 3 is just plain room temperature of 85 degrees F. I am completely confused by this:confused: So how does everybody heat theirs on here? I myself will be useing a heat pad with thermostat because I am unsure about the others lol.

I keep mine in a rack, heated with cable belly heat with a Helix thermostat.

I also use a rack with belly heat.

the most common way you are going to find is some form of heat tape/ heat mat with a thermostat ( ALWAYS) :)

I use heat pad with heat lamp right above it for a 95 degree basking spot and the rest of the cage is around 80
