In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

baked mac and cheese?

I never had luck with baked mac & cheese either, so I use this recipe (from Paula Deen):

Ingredients

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
3 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Boil the macaroni in water for six minutes. Drain.

In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.

In slow cooker, combine cheese mixture and add the eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper. Add the drained macaroni and stir again.

Cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

This is a late response but..my grandma makes the best baked mac and cheese:
thoroughly cook macaroni (about half a box)

make alternating layers of the cooked macaroni (first layer should be macaroni) and cheese in a casserole dish (use whatever amount of cheese you want, she uses almost an entire brick of cheddar)

pour in some milk - a little less than halfway up the dish

bake 1/2 hour at 350 (keep an eye on it though..I'm not quite sure if this is the right amount of time)

you can also put some bread crumbs on top before baking if you wanted to
