This lesser platinum is one of our best this year. He hatched on 07/15, and has had his third meal now, and is ready to go. He is feeding on mouse hoppers. Hatch weight of 57 grams, weight as of 08/12/09 is 86 grams.

Observing other hatchlings from this clutch, and from another sired by the same male, we have concluded that there is a chance this lesser is actually a lesser-granite with reduced markings in the windows.
It will take about a year to prove for certain that his sire is a granite, but we have a pure granite hatchling from a clutch sired by the male who sired this hatchling, on a normal female, as well as more lesser-granites from both clutches. The sire has reduced window markings, so we did not notice the small granite markings until we saw the distinctive pure granite hatchling with all the markers.

You can see the small granite markings in the photo provided above, though he also has a few larger spots.

So, if you purchase him, you have a chance that you get a bonus gene, and a combo morph.

We don't know for certain that this is genetic granite, I want to make that clear--but it DOES look like it, at least to me, and we are holding back the granite male to prove him out. We will let purchasers know the results if they stay in touch with us.
