    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a large and beautiful adult female RES. She was captured by me while fishing in a small pond near me in Massachusetts where they are not a native species and somebody probably released her several years ago. I've had her for several weeks to make sure she is doing ok in captivity again. She has been eating danelion greens, silverslide fish, and shrimp for me. She is not big on turtle pellets so that may take some work. Also she can be pretty personable but does hiss when picked up(its all a bluff though). I wish I did but unfortunately do not have the proper room and time to provide to this large of a turtle at the moment. She could make a great pet or breeder and would probably do well in a turtle pond considering she was released in to the wild and probably had lived there for several years. I would just give her away but to ensure she goes to a good home and doesn't end up dead or in the wild again there will be an adoption fee of $20. Some trades may be considered so just make me an offer if you want. Also I can ship but at 5 1/2 pounds and a 9 inch shell length shipping won't be cheap. I just want to make sure she goes to a good home!

Good job getting her out of an area where she doesn't belong. I wish more people would do that. The last thing that the threatened Northern redbelly turtle needs is to have to compete with red-eared sliders.

Again, nice job. I hope you can find her a good home. She's a nice looking turtle.
