    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've available a great 10-month super healthy 2 foot 8 inches male Blackthroat
monitor.
It is super healthy (lives outside around my screened pool which
is a giant terrarium indeed).
It is tame and never bite or tried to.
I can keep it since it fights allthe time with my second one since both are finally males.
I'll be waiting for your offers for a great a gorgeous pet.

you guys are talking about a female not a male. 100% sure.
 
Interesting you can be 100% sure it is a female when it is common knowledge that monitors are extremelly difficult to sex visually especially when not mature and furthermore on a pics.

Also, it is common knowledge that even if solitary in the wild monitors can be very social BUT typically males will compete though resulting into that what I am experiencing and making 1.1 or 0.2 a much better situation.

Hence my assumption it is a male... exhibiting long hemispenes all day long...
 
just a suggestion, if it everts it hemipenises so often maybe you should try to catch a pic of them for verification... females have a scent gland that they evert that is often mistaken for the male organ. Also, when you've looked at enough monitors of known sex you learn to notice the subtle details between males and females and while it is not a 100% proven method it can be pretty accurate given the right person is looking, it does look like a female to me too but hey prove me wrong and I just may buy him/her from you. Very pretty BT either way.
 
Thx for futher help - Actually my é BT are free to room accross my pool making difficult to be ready to take a pics when he or she exhibits his or her stuff :)
Based on your sensible feedback I might have two females then ?! Or maybe sometimes males and females can fight each other...don't know...
Thx for the compliment about he or she since it is a I think a nice one and super healthy : great food, florida sun :) and 45 feet by 35 feet terrarium what helps for good development too.
 
your very welcome and yes males and females will fight sometimes as will two females, personally I wouldn't worry about it in such a large area. If it turns into something serious there's obviously room to get away from one another. I'm actually looking for a male to pair up with my female I just don't think yours is a male based on the body structure is all. If your interested in a dumerils monitor male for trade I'd be willing to do that but I'd have to check on restrictions since you're in florida.
 
Actually the only restriiction I am aware of in Florida is for nile (some towns would ask for a license)- I'll send you off line pictures of my second BT and maybe you'll confirm I have 2 females. What is your email? for the dumerils monitor male letme check about them and I'll tell you. Cheers
 
I have a sweet bearded dragon that is a sweet colored morph not adult but growing fast for the BTM
 
the males hemipenises has what it would look like a flower at the end, but females don't have this. It's just a long tube, with no flower at the end, its blunt. Also females are grey,mix with black and brown in color and males are brown in color.
 
That my friend is another beautiful female. Do you want to sell that one?
 
So I am a very lucky man with two beautifull females :)
This one is the favorite of my son and it is why the first one, which is a bit bigger actually, will be the one ready to go.
Now I might have to find a BT male or another male monitor of similar size.

You are lucky, do you know how long I was looking for a female to breed with my male. 6 months, males are a dime a dozen. When you get a chance look in my pic folder you will see my male and female in there.
 
How much are you asking for her? and where in florida are you? I'm in lehigh acres. Call me and lets talk 239-738-2653 Edwin.
 
while I agree that this too appears to be female you can't really tell anything by color on monitors... they vary greatly in color and a male and female can have exactly the same coloration but what makes me say it appears to be a female is the body structure... the head especially as males usually tend to have a much broader head by this size and the fore arms are usually more developed looking as well. Personally I would keep the first one you posted and sell the other if anything.
 
Thx a million for further insight - The first one you like better and which is a big bigger will go since the second one is my son's favorite.
I've received plenty of great proposals and will make a choice this week I guess for best destination.
