    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello every one please help me out with a little dispute between me an my LOVELY Wife Kristy.Well here it is I have a wife and a daughter that have gotten a couple snakes for a hobby outside of what I buy and sell,now we have some mutual friends and one is a young lady who is a very aggressive snake handler beyond even what she see"s me handle and it just blows her mind that a girl can be that into Snakes OMG. Well so I ask how many women are snakehandlers versus men handlers . Well that is my question please poll so we can see what the precentages are please I am very curiose:shrug01:

I've noticed recently with all the more attractive color mutations, and more popularity of the hobby; more and more women are becoming curious and then becoming avid herpers.

I'm all for it, seeing as my g/f hadnt really handled snakes before she met me...now she has 2 of her own.

I know its great Im really trying to get my wife into the hobby and the more girls or women she see's doin it she gets more and gutsy about being a snake hobbiest.Wife now has her own baby corn snake and she actually holds it with out shivering to death
 
I have loved snakes all my life, and other reptiles too. I kept tarantulas and geckos in my college dorm room and when I got my own apartment I bought a ball python. I have since gotten my bf who's now my fiance into snakes as well. He owns a bunch and I own a bunch, but out of the two of us, I would still say I'm the more avid snakekeeper/herper. I LOVE the variety and the beauty of snakes- such fascinating creatures!
 
Wow I cant believe its almost half&half,wich means this hobby is not as male dominated as this Old Hillbilly thought kinda awsome for this hobby to explode with all these Awsome female Herpers
 
Funny story here. Before my wife and I got married she would come nowhere near my reptile building, scared to death. Once she moved in with me, and decided to go to one of the educational shows we present, she got brave and decided to hold a ball python, since she didnt want to be embarrassed in front of a bunch of sixth graders. And lo and behold what was her conclusion? Wow this isnt half bad, I should have listened to you earlier. Dont worry, that was the last time I have heard that. LOL.

So anyway, she now has several boas added to my collection, and over 100 leopard geckos of her own. I pushed and pushed for her to get involved in the industry, and now I have taken the last place I could go and escape on my own without bother, and opened the doors wide open. My oh my, what have I done? LOL
 
I have been working with reptiles since I was in 4th grade. I helped out with the science class snakes..

Always loved them.. and always will ^_^
 
One of my childhood friends use to have bp's and an extremely large burm. I would always have one of those bp's draped around me and I would go everywhere with her. My mom would flip out on me when I would bring it home. lol I love snakes, we've got a collection of over 30 snakes. Plus, my 6 geckos, 4 leos and 2 tokays.

This is my daughter. She is two now, was 1 1/2 in the pic. That is her snake and everyday she says "Mommy me hold my snake please" She walks around with him and plays as if he isn't even there. It's really cute! When we had our burms hatch, she would come running with leather gloves on her hands because she wanted to hold them. That's my girl!
 
That's so awesome Heather! If I ever have kids, I want to instill a love of snakes in them too. Your daughter is adorable, and what a pretty BP on her shoulders, too!
 
Thank you Kimberly. My daughter, Felicity, is something else. She even likes to play with the mealies while I'm feeding geckos. LOL Crazy kid She is always asking to hold something, no matter what it is. She says she wants to love it. :)
 
I was that way too. My dad used to take me to Clyde Pealing's Reptiland, which is this huge reptile zoo in PA, and I wanted to hold the big Burm. I was always digging up worms and catching frogs and garter snakes and bugs in the backyard- I was never grossed-out, just thought they were cool and wanted to play with them all. Kids have such innocence, and it's great she will grow up without that ridiculous, unfounded phobia of snakes too many women have.
 
Thanks Heather Great lookin child by the way she reminds me of my 2 year old Grand Daughter I call Sissy,has that exact same dora out fit with blonde hair too,and sissy loves Papas snakes.Sissy walks around and says papas nakes, papas nakes its all to funny.I am fassinated along with Kristy my wife on how many female who traditionally hate snakes are snake masters .We love all the folks responding nice to meet you all .

Haha that's so funny! My daughter's name is Felicity, but we call her Lissy for short!
