In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone ever hear of him? He's a Chinese exporter. If you've heard anything, positive or negative, please let me know.
Thanks

He cant ID his species correctly. Tried selling some misc keeled backs (cheap snake) as Elaphe davidi (expensive snake) to me.

10 months ago I ordered 12 chinese crocodile lizards and some ratsnakes. I have never received the order, and Liu does not return my phone calls and his email address does not work anymore.

Thank you all! And Fauna! For providing this boad!

I just got an email from him too, and I'm glad I could jump in here and find out some experience before forking over cash to someone for nothing.

Actually, even if someone called a wrong snake name, it is not a cheat, further more, all the animals must be classifed and tested their names before being exported permit by the state government. No one can say all they called the animals's name are all correct, or why so many questions and puzzles on the animals' name?

And further, about Jason Andson's message, if this is the fact, he never make any confirmation of sales and never pay for order, why asked someone to ship the animals?

Business need trust and on the base of trust, not on the base of bad words or hurt others, right?

This has the makings for another very long thread.

To Francois. Calling one animal by another name and trying to sell it for much more than it is worth is a cheat. If not, how do you define the word. As far as why so many questions and puzzles on an animals name, thats the whole point of this hobby. People don't just buy reptiles, they buy PARTICULAR reptiles. If the names were not important all we would see is ads like snake "snake for sale $50.00" I understand that people can and do make mistakes, and when it come to common names there is a quite a bit of variation, but that is one of the reasons behind the whole genus/species thing. So everyone knows exactly what you are talking about. If someone is exporting animals and is missrepresenting animals (be it in error or on purpose) they have no business being in the business.

Of course business needs trust but if someone is not being trustworthy we can rely on this forum to help show them for what they truly are. Sometimes errors in judgement are made, but more often than not this forum works. I don't know how long you have been reading this forum but I think you are about to find out how it really works. I will just caution you that if you value your reputation in the herp community be careful of what you say on here, and be careful about who you defend. Make sure you know everyhing about them because if a big issue is made over them you can be assured that someone here will find out all their secrets. Nothing is overlooked and nothing is forgotten, and thats the way it should be.

Francios is Liu, Liu sent me a threatening email with the same exact wording. Threatening me with legal action. LOL for telling people about her/him miss IDing species.

I'd guessed the same with the same poor verb usage and lack of a name included at the end. Along with the fact it's a brand new account that was created just to make that post.
He did have one point though, about proof...

Jason, can you tell us a little more. How did you pay? When? And what has been done since?

Thanks!

I figured Francois was Liu. It always makes you cautious when a one-hit-wonder comes on here, posts in an irrational fashion, supports the actions of one being outed as a potential bad guy, and does so in the middle of the night (of course it was early in the morning in China, wasn't it?)!

I have asked it before, and I ask it now again . . .Don't you just love people who are too dumb to cheat well?

Boring issues!

It's boring to discuss this boring issue: one question is only discussing the snake's name, no one know whose name is correct, needless to say the buyer never buy and the seller never sell any product each other, and the other question is that someone never make any order and never pay any money but wish the seller to ship the order. Boring issues!

Francois/Liu

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you an exporter. I can't believe an exporter of all people would have such a cavalier attitude about getting the names of animals correct. Aren't there quotas, cites concerns and other issues that would make the name of the animal the most important part of the whole thing. Missrepresenting an animal to rip someone off is bad enough but to missrepresent animals to get around quotas and cites just adds to the mess. I am not saying that you did that (the quota and cites thing) I'm just using it as an example of another reason why getting the correct name of the animal is so important. I am sorry that you find such an important part of your business and our hobby to be boring. The sad thing is that only a small percentage of people in the herp business probably read this board so relatively few people will be made aware what your true attitude is regarding the animals you are trying to sell.

I also think it's kind of funny that Liu thought adopting a French name (Francois) would be the way to put everyone at ease here on the BOI! LOLOLOL!!! Hey Liu, been watching the news the last couple of months much?

I could be wrong, but isn't Francois a man's name? After emailing Liu to inform him that I was not going to purchase animals from them due to this thread, Liu informed me that he is a SHE and was very adimately opposed to being thought of as a man, from the tone of voice in the email.
