    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Do snakes shed in sinc when kept in groups?

I ask because I currently have 10 snakes (all the same species) in pretty close proximity, and currently 4 of them are blue at the same time. Normally they shed every 3 months or so, so that's quite a coincidence.

I've never kept this many snakes before, and I wondered if the larger keepers see this at all?

(I am reminded of how a community of women living or working together often come into sinc with each others cycles, thank goodness snakes don't seem to suffer from PMS) :reddevil:

I thought of the same thing, but my guess is that it is more related to the schedules we put them on - snakes that are in similar growth phases, and fed the same meals on the same schedule, progressing at the same rates.

Well, they are all fed together, but I've only had 5 of them for 2 months, and there's quite a range of ages, sexes and sizes. One is temporarily boarding with me while her owner's away and has only been with us for 4 weeks.

Previously I kept three all the same age together and they seemed to shed at random intervals.

I thought maybe I'd reached critical hormonal mass or something, but then I guess breeders would experience mass ecdysis events, which I've never heard of! :D

Lol, I often wondered this myself. Seems like when one of my guys goes into shed, usually 2 or 3 more are to follow in the next 24 hours, and I keep 4 different species of animals at varying sizes! Today I had my burm, and 3 boas shed out. They all went blue within about 3 days of each other. It's so strange
