Inquiry Dustin Mckay?

Has anyone ever heard of anything or dealt with Dustin Mckay?

Purchased a 1400 gram female spider ball python from Dustin last January 2010.
He responded to email immediately up to several times a day.
Sent payment via USMail on Jan 21st. Delivery was to take place when temps improved.

No contact in February ... we both agreed temps were too cold to ship.
Several emails back and forth in March ... temps still too cold to ship.

Temps improved in April.
Sent email April 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 26th and today the 27th.
Contacted him several times in April via phone. He indicated that it was still too cold to ship (I agreed). When temps were good the snake was about to shed and he wanted to wait until she did shed.

While I cannot say that I am being jerked around as his reasons for not shipping are valid, the communication the last month has been terrible. I have to initiate all communication and seldom get a reply.

I will post an update when the purchase has been received or a refund is issued (have not requested this as of yet).

The same exact thing happened to me! I purchased a 1000 gram female spider from him in January. We also both agreeded that it was to cold to ship. He stayed in contact with me until it started getting warmer. Last Month when it was warm enough he said he was going to ship the spider out. I never got the snake. I started to get pissed and I told him so. Recently he said the snake was in shed and he said he would not ship her in shed or if she had any food in her. About 10 days went by and she still didn't shed. I told him I want my money back because I was tired of being ignored and I still didn't have my snake. I eventually told him I wanted my money back and he reptiles in a rude email.

He said he would give me my money back, but he would also be putting blogs up about my bad ethics. He said I don't care for the saftey of my animals just because I asked him to ship a snake in shed. It's been about two weeks now and I still don't have my money via paypal. I have contacted the credit card company and paypal and neither of them could do anything for me.


Douglas, could you please post your emails with Dustin also with pictures of the snake he sold you? I wil be posting emails shortly.

Do you two know where he is supposedly shipping from? I just got my final purchase, from winter, shipped into me last week. The difference is, the person I received my snake from is highly regarded in the industry and would never be questioned as to why he hadnt shipped yet. From your standpoints, sounds like you both are getting the runaround.

He is in Ny. For a while he didn't give me his phone number, After countless emails asking for his number he finally gave me his number. I tried calling him for 4 days straight leaving voicemails but he would never call back. I started to get mad so one day I called him and left him a voicmail saying I'm pissed off and want my money back. Then wouldn't you know it, he called back. He gave me an excuse about being busy doing some kind of cement work for his company.

Do you think that this thread should be turned into a bad guy post instead of a info post?

Frank, IMHO, sounds like this is becoming a bad guy thread but I wouldnt label it as such just yet. Make him aware of this thread and post your transaction emails with headers so people can get a better idea of what you are dealing with.

If he cares anything about his reputation, letting him know that there is an inquiry thread might get his attention. If you make it a bad guy thread without exhausting all avenues to take care of your problem, might hinder yourself a little bit. I would give it a little time before I turn it into a bad guy thread, even though it seems like he is playing with you two.

Well here are all of the emails that I have from me and Dustin. I have stored all of these emails because I save them usually until I get the snake. I have not changed any of the writing in the emails this is a straight copy and paste.

The first emails are towards the bottom and the latest emails are towards the top. If anything looks to confusing I will gladly explain.

her weight as yesterday was 1102g but she had a meal in her, im guessing just over 1000g is a safe bet. if she is something your intersted in let me know i have had allot of people who want her but i havent had any commitments yet. also she is an 07 so she is of age to breed but she was fed modistly by me because i have had better luck on there first clutch this way. i get them to around a thousand grams then breeding season it is very easey to put 400-600g on because she has very little body fat.thanks agean

Now I am not so sure he had her from the begining. Would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but at this point I am not so sure.

Looks like weather in your are is still a little cold the first part of the week.
I am ok with Wednesday out for delivery on Thursday.

What's odd to me is that almost the entire month of April has been fine for shipping with the exception of a few days. I am really thinking he has scammed the two of you but if either of you can get him on the phone or I can call him myself, I can pick them up myself and get them shipped out to both of you. Sounds like he is talking about me in this email. He said he had to ship to 2 other people and waiting on the weather to ship. Guessing one of those people were you. The other was supposedly going to texas.

Also thats a lie when he says it's in the 20's. His weather never got below 35.

Found out this morning that Dustin cashed my Bank of America cashier check in Portland, NY on Jan 25th (4 days after I mailed it). Interesting thing is that Portland is 190+ miles from Moravia.

Frank ... if you have not done so already, file a complaint with your local Police Department. Tell them that the Sherrif's department in Cayuga County New York is working off my documentation.

I've actually purchased a snake from Dustin before. A friend of his, Carl of Acks Exotic Pets of Syracuse NY vouched for him as I was sending a cheque. But he did ship the snake, and it was the snake I purchased.

Kevin ... do you recall if the address Dustin was using during your purchase was Moravia, NY? I just do not understand the lack of communication with this guy.

From January thru March he was fairly responsive. Once temps went up in April there has been almost not response.

I appologize, I don't have his address anymore. I'm not sure what happened to that email. I do remember he was in NY and Moravia sounds familiar. I'll look and see if I have any paperwork or anything saved on my home computer when I get off work.

Just an update with my encounter with Mckay.

I must say this guy is a huge load of crap.
On thursday night I told my father my experiences with Dustin. My father does not like to be messed with so I thought it was a good idea.
Well on thursday night I gave my father Dustin #. He did not pick up the first time, the second time his wife had picked up the phone and played stupid. After the ordeal with his Wife about 15 min later Dustin calls my father back.
Dustin was being very aggressive and rude and talking about a lot of Bs.

He said that it has been snowing where he is located at and was too cold to ship, I told my father that was a load of bs as I had just checked my phone and it was over 50 degrees there. He said it was just starting to warm up even tho their has been countless times where he had the opportunity to ship but decided to ignore my calls and emails.

He said that he wanted to ship out all 3 of his packages at the same time because he lives 45 minutes away from the closest ups and is to lazy to drive their. That was another load of bs as he told me he ships via shipyourreptiles and for a small fee they will come right to your house.

At this point my father was getting aggravated and said that he will personally have someone go to his place and pick up the package as he has family up their and ship out the snake for him since he is too lazy. I do not no his response to that part as I could not hear.

After that they were arguing about getting a return and how he should feel like a complete @$$***** about steeling $600 from a kid. He then stated that $600 was small change for him because he just made 1.2 mil from being a contractor.

After they both settled down my father told him that he has 48hrs to send $600 to my paypal. Well it has been well over 48hrs and still no money.

So what that conversation told me is that he is a very big liar and a a very rude person.

He had many opportunities to ship the snake in warm weather. He said he was too lazy to drive 45 minutes to ship out a snake. He said he is trying to gain reputation but that is not going to happen if you are to lazy to ship someone out their snake that they paid for. Also if he supposedly made 1.2 mil at 25 years old he should of been able to send the money back quickly and he wouldn't be living in an apartment.

Besides contacting authorities I am also contacting paypal to try and ban his account on his i.p so he can't scam anybody over paypal and to get under Mckay's skin.
