    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My five ft. carpet python escaped his cage within the last half hour while I was bringing in cages that I was cleaning from the backyard. I must have accidentally opened the door to his cage when I moved it and now I cant find it. I looked all over the house and the backyard with no luck. I took out a frozen rat with the hopes of enticing him back since hes long overdue for a feed. I'm nervous that he went out the back door while I had it propped open and now that its dark I'll never find him until a local news report shows some kid getting bitten or holding my python. Any suggestions? Please help.

Its over an hour later with no luck. I have to turn in soon and wont be home most of the day tomorrow. Anyone have advice? I've searched pretty much everywhere it could be in the house with a couple of exceptions that I will search now but am very worried that it made it outside.

if it made it out side your SOH... sorry...

but if its inside (which hopefully is the case) give it time you'll turn it up

Look in HIGH places. My carpet always goes UP, instead of down (like my balls) Also look in dark warm places. Turn off the lights and find a nook up on a shelf put a box with a heating pad under it and put the rat in it.

Good luck!

Ok so I came downstairs to check on my rats without any hope and I find the shitbastard poking half his body out from under the cabinet and Im like WTF? So grab him but could not pull him out! Turns out there is a hollow under the cabinet floors with an opening, I guess for ventilation, and hes made himself home. Im trying to entice him out with a warm rat. Lets see how this works out. I have 30 minutes.

LOL. At least he's still in the house. There's nothing you have with a hook that could pull him out? Take apart a coat hanger maybe? I'm reaching, I know, but it's worth a shot...

Great sucess!!!! He seemed to be enticed by the rat and followed it but then decided to keep going right past it and head for the fridge ( must have been smoking some of my neighbors pot overnight or something ) and as his whole body finally came out I picked him and guided him right back into his home where he went without a fuss, ignoring the rat. As a reward I tried to feed him in his cage but he would only go for the rat after I bumped him with it on the head a few times. Thanks for the support guys. Leason learned!!!
BTW is it safe to feed my snakes a WC mouse I trapped in a live trap in the snake room ? Funny place to find a mouse, you'd think the smell of the snakes would keep them out of there.

I've misplaced my snake hook but tried with a log poker and it didnt work because hes one strong SOB and when he holds onto something it is hard to pry him loose and thats when I can get a hold of his whole body ( like when wraps around the shower faucets) but here the majority of his body was in a crevice so I had to wait until he came out or I risked hurting him or getting bitten ( he tagged me once when I was switching him over to FT and I guess my hand was warmer than the rat and more enticing - not fun ).

Oh, i'm so glad everything worked out well! Hopefully, you won't have to go through that again. As far as the w/c mouse, the only problem I forsee is if the mouse was exposed to pesticides or toxins of any kind. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. JMO.
