I was looking at the thread. And the worst you really called him was a proven Liar. Why is he all of a sudden gonna get mad and Sue? I just can't believe he would.

Remember this. The best defense against a libel suit is the truth.
so go digging through all his post and find his....ummmm....what shal I call it? Oh yeah find all of his "Oh gee I forgot" comments.
point out to the judge that he never admits to lying. Point out to the judge that he only admits to forgetting what really happened.

Libel is the publication of a false and damaging statement. If it is not false....then it is not libel So start copying and pasting


Also point out to the judge that Neil has been called much worse things in the past while his store was open.
And now that his store is clsoed...he is all of a sudden gonna sue for being called a liar. Then ask the judge if this suing thing is because Neil needs additional income.

I can't believe someone who has called everyone names is now gonna sue you for calling him a liar just because he closed his store and IN MY OPINION proably is looking for another income.

Here is an interesting thing I read

He must prove that what you said is false.

Do you know how hard it is gonna be to prove he lost business because you decided to call him a liar.

Ritchie is right. In order to libel someone you have to tell an untruth about them. I have not done that. The truth can be painful, especially if you are not used to carrying it around with you. Since this isn't philosophy 101 I'll just leave it there.

I find it very interesting and also VERY telling that neil talks only about his guarentee being the best in the business. Guess the animals he sells don't meet the same standard. I'm hardly surprised.

The LAST thing we need to do is give him any notice at all. If he wants to sue you, he has the right, but I cannot imagine him having any basis for victory whatsoever. You called him a liar, and he has admitted the same in a multiplicity of posts/threads/emails/PMs. You win, hands down!

By the way, I know the WebSlave gave him the permission to post on the thread concerning him and Dave Lawson...did that now apply to all others? Is he (the one who must not be named) now back in full standing? Yes, this thread does concern him in a round about way, but it is only in response to comments made in another thread wherein he posted without provocation of ANY type!

Personally, I'd like to see him banned for being the forgetful/forgetable individual he is, given the manner in which he holds the BOI and its members in such low esteem. I'm done with him and this thread.

Here you go Teresa. While I may not have done business with neil, lucky that the BOI is here on that score, I do know that when someone admits to telling a lie he is then by definition a liar. neil has admitted it and been caught at it and so is therefore a liar.

I really don't have anything against neil personally but here's what I think may have happened had techoverload used neil for advise and as a sourse. Somewhere down the line sick animals would have been sold to Tech "by mistake or all unknowingly" by neil. Tech's customers would not have been pleased, and rightly so. Then there is the disease and parasite problem that may have resulted from any animals that were not 100% healthy. And in a retail situation,one sick snake or lizard or tortoise can be tremendously costly, both monitarily and for one's reputation. I was attempting to save Tech from this headache.

Who reading this thinks that neil would not have set himself up as one of Tech's main suppliers? Anyone? Anyone at all? That's what I thought.

While I do agree with taking advice from many sourses I do have to stick by my earlier opinion that if you have a choice in quality go for the best and one way to find out who is the best and who is most definately not is to come here and ask. My opinion was asked for, indirectly yes, but asked for none the less. I gave it.

The truth can be a very painful thing as seems to be the case below.

I'm still not sure how this ended up on the BOI....but it looks like a can of worms has been opened for sure.

I hadn't really considered whether or not Neil was going to be a supplier for Techoverload, but was under the impression that Techoverload had already made contact with Neil before posting here, so I assumed they knew each other "pre-Fauna".

All I'm certain of is that if people here want Neil to go away, isn't starting threads about him the wrong way to go about it?

Here are adimisions to two lies in one quote
1 Neil admits to having reported a stolen snake that appears in his freezer.
2. Neil admits to posting that a snake is sold even though it really died.
As far as the two "lies" you caught me in....I've already admitted to them and apologized for them....so because I got confused on a snake in my freezer right after the burglary, and then I tried to save time by posting a sold snake that had died....those are "hangable" offenses???

If you need more lies....eeerrrr I mean forgetting of the truth. Let me know. He must have a desparate lawyer. One that will take any case....including this very lame losing one.

Before I jump into any of this I'd like to say that I'm not taking anyone's side directly. I am only stating my opinion and facts. As to Lawson's side I have no direct knowledge. As to Neil...(You guys probably won't like this..) He has always been a good customer and quite honest. He has a smart a#%$@ attitude but I guess that's just the New Yorker thing! LOL . I don't think I would try someone for libel over a little name calling. Depends on how far it goes. I guess it comes down to wether you think all publicity is good publicity. Enable someone and they will take advantage of it. It's getting to be a soap opera. Maybe if it's left alone it will go away. I do agree with you, though...the only thing left, that is pertinent enough, is my father's Part 3 of "his" investigation of all the "strange" phone calls he got, and answering some other questions that were posed! I would have loved for him to have been able to post this "after" the "report" was posted, but....that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon (if ever)... so, as soon as he finishes the last couple of loose strings.....Part 3 will be posted, and then we'll see what happens??? Maybe "after" Part 3, Rich will have a change of heart and post the "report"....I, for one, can't "wait" to see how the investigator handled his job!! ....Neil
