    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Alright, I give up!
I can't get this thing to heat my heat tape!
Yes, it is plugged in, probe is in the right spot, heat tape is wired fine.
The differential is set at 1 and I have the Set point at 89, the temperature is reading 76 at the probe point so it should definetly be on!
What am I doing wrong? Please and thank you!
Technology is not my friend :ack2:

It's probably set up for cooling. Do you have the paperwork for it? It will show you the "pin" placement for heating and cooling, all you have to do is open the case and take a look. The other way to check is to drop the set point below the current temp, and see if it kicks on. (It's an easy fix, but frustrating as hell until you figure it out - I've been there)

Yes...and if you have a hard time, I can walk you through it - but turn down the set temp to make sure that IS the problem, first.

Just found out it's not.
The one time I didn't check my heat tape before I put it in. Just bought it yesterday, It's all bad, all 12 feet. ARRRRRRGGGGHHH I'm screwed.
Now I have to contact the show director and TRY to get in touch with the guy who sold it to me.

How are the connectors attached to the heat tape? If using the crimped connectors, try crimping them tighter. The one time I had this issue, the connectors just weren't biting hard enough into the tape. It was an easy fix.

I called my electrician friend over and he restriped some new cords, and got me some new connectors just to make sure it wasn't the cords. It was!
I love him now, lol. Now I don't have to send a nasty e-mail :)
