In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you think?

I was surfing around looking at rack ideas I stumbled across this

http://www.redtailboas.com/forum/di...-shelving-unit-snake-rack-customizations.html

What do you guys think about this? Any Idea's to make it more efficent?
I know taking the lids off every time can be a hassle but not more than cleaning glass tanks( I HATE GLASS TANKS I seriously want put my fist threw them)

I've been told three side's on this
1. It works good ( Minus having to remove & replace lids)
2. It will melt and catch fire as quick
3. Its ok but the flexwatt melts the shelving after extended use

What do you think?
As Always Ideas and suggestions are always welcome The Good and The Bad

I use something simular to this in my garage to keep it organized, With quite a bit of weight on them and it actually holds up very well, If I did go this route Id be using aa HEAVY DUTY shelving unit. The thing Im worried about is it either has to be the Hard heavy duty plastic type or metal shelving.. Naturally I'll be using Flexx Watt as my heating source Im unsure if the Flexxwatt will melt the shelving? And If So could I use something to put inbetween the flexx watt and shelving to prevent or help prevent melting from happing?

I used one of those shelving units for ATBs + ETBs years ago. It worked, that's about the only comment I have. I didn't use heat tape on it, but there is no reason it would melt the shelves if it was properly controlled (I'd probably be inclined to use a proportional Tstat, myself).
Now that I think about it, the tubs I used were a relatively snug fit (I added spacers, as opposed to cutting down the stock pieces) and all the rattling around trying to get the tubs out disrupted the snakes. The well establishe dones weren't affected much, but some of the newer stuff wouldn't eat for a while after dragging them down. Kind of defeated the purpose to have to stack things all over the place, lol.

If the flexwatt is melting plastic, it's not being controlled properly. Not to mention, flexwatt is basically plastic so how is this possible?

I use thermostats on all of my racks and have been using flexwatt since 1983 with no problems.

Harald Thanks for advice Tim Im not having a problem with the Plastic shelving melting I was concerned if after a while it would melt..

I found this (well someone knew about it and sent it my way ) :

Shadera you have a post inside the thread I was wondering if you ever made one or not? If you did My question is the Ecoboard ( The pegboard without the holes) safe to run the flexwatt on?

Also what could I use on the bottom side to go lidless? Dry erase board? plastic sheeting boards? (actual plastic sheeting) Not the plastic rolls

I know dry erase board would warp over time (short period in this case) Thats why I was thinking more on the lines of the Plastic shetting boards

Nope, never did use that though it was tempting. I used my own plans that just use wood. I like a big heavy rack.
