Need advise on the "best" type of UV lighting for my adult Beardie pair.  I have been reading about all the different stuff, but I would like a little practical advise.

Thanks, MIke

All full spectrum bulbs are pretty much the same in my opinion. They all degrade over time and need replaceing long before they quite giving off light. Most will give off good levels of UVB for about three months. They all make claims that there the best. One helpful hint, UVB will not penetrate the lens that comes on most light fixtures. There should be nothing between the animal and bulb but air. IMHO

You know what?  I'll probably get ripped for this one, but I don't use UV lights -  at all - period. Never have. Bearded dragons do quite well without them, providing you utilize proper supplementation. I've been keeping adults and raising hatchlings for almost 7 years now w/o any trouble.
Color in dragons is all in the genes. In my expierence, some may color up a little better with UV lights or when raised outdoors, but I don't believe UV lighting is absolutely necessary for a dragon's good health.

Since you were looking for a reccomendation, I've heard good things about the Active UV Heat Bulbs, (by T-Rex) as well as ESU's 7% 's, they seem to beam out brighter than others in display tanks.
