    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Long Island Herpetological Society will put on an exhibition at Gardiner Manor Park later today, August 2, at 5PM, rain or shine. There will also be another one on August 23rd same time and place.

This is a great event for kids to learn about herps, especially appropriate for kids of all ages (yes that includes grand parents too). All you kids should make sure to bring mom and dad too.

Usually last about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

We will probably have: snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises and some amphibians on display. We give talks about each type of animal we have on display, there is a chance for the children to touch the animals, questions from the audience are encouraged.

The event is in a really nice park - come early and enjoy the day there.

The park entrance is on the south side of Montauk Highway (27A), about one-half mile east of the Robert Moses Causeway. Take the Southern Parkway east or west to the Robert Moses Parkway, exit at 27A (Montauk Highway), go east to the park (I don't think it it more than a mile) park entrance on right.

Hope to see some of you there.

Best regards,
Glenn B
