In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Maybe someone can help me here. I just need some information on Delta as a shipper.

1. What cities does Delta deliver to? Is it only to the major cities that they offer this service?

2. What is the average cost of a shipment 15 x 11 x 7, weighing 5lbs?

3. Other than the initial procedure of getting an account, what other requirements does Delta have for shipping animals?

4. Are there any negatives about Delta's service that is a consistent problem for you?

Thanks in advance for your help!

some help

This may help a little...

1. Delta ships to any airport with a delta hub (to my knowledge).

2. Shipping WAS about $70... Can't remember the max weight though. I haven't shipped via Delta for about 6 months.

4. Driving to the airport to drop off animals can be a nuisance.... For you and your customers.

Thanks!

Here's why I am was asking. My Dad is a pilot and owns his own plane. I have been wanting to get completely out of the insurance business for about twenty years now, and he would like to buy some more planes, hire some pilots, and start a new business. I was wondering what service it was that Delta provided, to see if it might not be done on a similar scale (perhaps more convenient locations), for the same or a cheaper cost, in a specific portion of the country (at first).

As more and more restrictions are placed upon the upfront shipment of reptiles, it seems to me that a niche is opening up for someone willing to fill it. I have already started the leg work of looking into some of the particulars, but I wanted to know what Delta did, exactly, since I had never used them before.

Thanks again!

Funny :) I'm working on getting INTO the insurance business.... As my current occupation is not a life-long deal, I am considering taking over my mother's agency as she nears retirement.

BTW - After thinking about it for a bit... Last time I checked Delta was around $70 for a package under 60 lbs...

The actual packaging - seems to depend on where you ship from - just like shipping through any of the overnight services...

Darin,,
I hope this helps a little..
We ship and recieve shipments with Delta, sometimes several a week.
Dash shipping runs 69.00-75.00 airport - airport,,up to 50 pounds,,and guaranteed within 24 hours.. Dash has to be PRE-PAID,, and does not accept C.O.D.
Then you have Priority 1st shipping.. This usually runs around 50.00 airport - airport,, and they accept C.O.D.'s.. HOWEVER, they charge an additional 20.00 for c.o.d.'s..So its about the same price anyway..
Priority 1st guarantee's they be there with 48 hours, which is fine, as it usually only takes till the next day to arrive..
I think you have a good idea, the only problem is it takes ALOT of money to run those planes..and pay pilots..
If you have any other ???'s,, i would be happy to answer them if I can..
Jeff
