    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So like the title asks, will females eat if they've locked up and taken. I thought the last shed would have been her post ovulation one because it really looked like she swelled up for a while but that was a couple weeks ago and she just ate so I'm curious, if a female has taken will she still eat? I'm thinking its a lost cause this year for her to drop eggs and might as well look forward to next year. It really sucks too because it was my het lavender albino female!

My females have all stopped eating right before glowing, I've heard of them eating later and even after ovulating but I don't think it's too common.

Depends on the female. I know this is the BP forum; but I'll also throw in that it varies a bit according to species. Many types of snakes will eat right up until birth/laying, though it is generally a good idea to stop feeding a few weeks before the expected due date.

I have 1 that just started eating again. But she will only eat small rats around 75-100 grams where she would always nails a 250 gram rat no prob before. The other girl quit 4 weeks ago. I'm hoping both took but all my signs are off and I'm not sure anymore.

My big girl took a small rat a week or two ago and she is full of eggs! Absolutely huge! So no worries, don't fret! :)

Aggressive eaters will take a meal either all through their breeding up to ovulation or a few weeks before eggs, some take meals periodically and some don't at all. Every snake if different and will do the exact opposite you expect of them sometimes!! :rofl:

my female that laid on 1-1-11, i missed ovulation and everything and she ate about a week or two before those eggs were laid, so it's definitely possible. hopefully that's the case with my bee that just shed and ate this past weekend.
