Question for Neil regarding account setup by James

Hey Neil, I was just wondering why the Paypal account was set up by James for your previous burglary. Why didn't you set up an account or why wasn't one setup for you? Anyone with an email can do it right. Was James a personal friend of yours? I ask because it just seems like you have had a run of the bad luck lately. Two burglaries in the past 6 months and then the scam with James. This does not seem to be your year. Hope it will get better.

I, personally, had NOTHING to do with, either, the SETUP, or the TAKING of ANY monies from ANYONE!! This was ALL GRACIOUSLY done through FaunaClassifieds....James was working FOR Rich Z.....James was put in charge of collecting the monies and then distributing them to the PI....obviously....he STOLE EVERYTHING!!
I'm not too worried, because ONE DAY, I WILL catch who did this...it's just a matter of time! Keep checking "America's Most Wanted" and "Cops"....maybe I'll get lucky! ....Neil

Neil, I hope they do catch the scum that is ripping you off. I also hope that somehow something can be done about the money that James stole from everyone.

Just for the record, James did not work for me.  I think the relationship is adequately described elsewhere in this board.

James came to me and asked about starting a donation program for Neil, but I was not, and AM not thrilled about donation programs, so I suggested that we collect donations with the express purpose of hiring a private investigator to track down the culprit(s) and provide all of the ammunition necessary to the authorities to put the perpetrator(s) away.  I did not want to be involved with gathering up monies to send directly to anyone in any sort of hardship case.  This could become an unending nightmare in more ways than one.

This PI appears to have made some headway, but once the payments stopped, so did his work.  As I have stated elsewhere, I am going to be paying off the balance owed to Mr. Crowley and will get a copy of his reportings to post on the BOI.  This is an attempt to try to get closure on what people donated, by at least showing whatever information the PI came up with for our payments to him.  At this point, that is the best I can do to draw this to a conclusion.

Let me state here, however, that I am strongly inclined to make an attempt to prevent people from being drawn into any such further donation ideas that may arise on the BOI.  In actuality, the BOI is really not the place for this sort of information anyway.  There is way too much opportunity for abuse, both from the people doing the collection (as we have seen) as well as possibly unscrupulous individuals taking advantage of many people's generosity by making up unverifiable stories in order to solicit these donations from them.  I do not want the BOI to be caught in the middle of such things.  If and when such a scam were to take place, this site would get yet another black eye from such goings ons, and I want to nip this off right now.

I will likely make a policy announcement about this in the near future as part of that ever growing list of RULES for the BOI.

Well, Sean question still remains unanswered. Whose friend was James. I can't believe all the people that send the money deposited his trust into a person that popped out of nowhere!
I believe the original question Sean posted was very valid. Maybe the investigation has been concentrated too much on people that had something against Neil. Maybe, and just maybe the answer is in the so called circle of "friends".

It's too bad that so many people were there to help Neil out with their generosity and it appears that all of us got screwed by James. Let this be a lesson to us all. I asked about James relationship to Neil because I thought they might have been friends due to James' initiation of donations. I think we all assumed James had some sort of relationship with Neil and we trusted James with our money. Either way, what's done is done. Hopefully, the person/s robbing Neil will be caught and James will pay back what he owes. I feel what comes around, goes around.

Rich Z. I do not blame you frome staying away from any future donation type of threads. After the rippoff by James you do not need anymore Headache.

I talked to James almost everyday for around 8 months durring all of the things he was getting involved in with Rich Z, and Neil. And would have never thought he would stoop so low as to rip everyone off!

I felt like he was a friend, as well as you and some of the other people he was getting involved with in the herp comunity might have thought.

Then he goes and pulls a "TWEAKER" like stunt like this, and disapears. I just wish he could be MAN enough to explain why he would make himself look like such a LOSER!
