In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

You have to be kidding !!!  That is pretty brazen to not even try and put you off and to just blow you off like that !  Good Idea saving the dead ones in the freezer just in case,  I think anyone who reads this post will never do business with her after the way she treated you.  I really hope things work out for you and this person gets what they deserve ten fold. I would post her email and any info you might have on her so everyone knows about her.

First off,

Jody is a HE & not a SHE. I know Jody personally and have a hard time beleiving these accusations about him.  I have known many people that have been very pleased with the service and animals received from Jody.  I would try contacting HIM again and trying to resolve this situation in an adult manner.  I don't know they whole story as we all know there are two sides to every story and your is not the only one but it is your side.  I will contact Jody and see if I can figure anything out about this myself.

if you know him,and you can help solve this for us that would be great.i have tried and tried with him.just to get totaly blown off.thank-you

Notice this date October 10th I do not nor do I know of many people that guarantee reptiles that long of a time. He knew these animals were wild caught when we did the trade.

Sorry you feel ripped off, I have plenty of refrences of people that have bought from me if any of you would like to have them feel free to ask me. I guess when you sell as much stuff as I do granted you are not going to be able to make everyones day. Again Sorry and by the way I am a He not a She.

MY ERROR!!!!!!!!!I HOPE YOU EEL YOU OWE ME SOMETHING FOR ALL OF THIS!!THE
ANIMALS I SENT YOU WERE COMPLETELY PERFECT!!YOU COULD'NT ASK FOR BETTER
QUALITY!PLEASE WORK SOMETHING OUT WITH ME,SO THIS CAN BE FAIR AND ALSO
PLEASE TAKE BETTER CARE OF THE ANIMALS I SENT YOU THAN YOU TAKE CARE OF
YOURS.......JASON KIPER

Jason,

I just read the e-mail you sent to Jody after the animals arrived, and you were happy with them, you even asked if he had a female Dumeril.  You did not say anything about the animals being sick!  And then he said your second contact was 6 days later on the 10th.  I don't know very many Reptile dealers that will offer you a 6 day guarantee or anythign close to that.  I offer Live Healthy arrival and usually 24 hours after that.  From what I can see you sent animals, He sent animals, both people were happy when they arrived, and then you later became inhappy.  It is a terrible thing if any animals died but I am pretty sure he did not imply any 6 day guarantee.

so, what were Jody's replies back???
sounds like Jason said the sunbeams needed some work and were thin and asked some questions on the day they arrived...i think that is letting the person know that something was wrong w/in 24 hrs.  there must have been more correspondence.
dana

look at the second post, he stated the male died the day before and the female was on deaths bed.  First anyone who has dealt with Sunbeams knows they are a very hard species to establish in captivity.  But 5 days after the arrival is not a normal in a guarantee.

Here are my terms of sale as stated on my website for all to see. I do not guarantee for 24 hours. He did not state anything in the october 4th email about a refund. If he was that un-pleased why would he of wanted more animals from me (female dumerils)?  I do not gurantee the animals for a long time after the sale simply because they are no longer in my care. They are in your care not all reptiles are easy to care for you buy at your discression. I do not force you. Again I am sorry your not pleased with me.

Thankyou to everyone that has done buisness with me.

Jody, a question:

How long had you had the Xenopeltis in your care? Just wondering if it was a fresh wc or what, from Jay's description it was a parasatized fresh wild caught. Also, did you tell Jay before the deal was made that the sunbemas were underweight? Did he receive pictures of them? Not trying to be accusatory or anything, just curious about how the deal went.

Thanks

Kelli,

On the ad I posted on kingsnake was pictures of the sunbeams, I also stated they were wild caught in the ad and had been treated with panacur. I also recommended anyone buying c/b or w/c to take there animals to the vet.
So yes he knew what he was getting before the deal went through. Sunbeams are not an easy snake to keep. I also sold a pair locally here and I saw them yesterday still doing fine and thriving. I have had no complaints from anyone else on them either. I also made sure to send everyone a copy of a caresheet that was online.

Hope this answers your question,
Jody

I think the fact that he voiced his concern when he received the sunbeams is enough for me. It sounds like he was willing to work with them and try to nurse them back. Wild caught should  not mean sickly. Let's see your response to his e-mail where he said the sunbeams look thin. If you made a trade with him, it seems reasonable to assume that he did not want to subject ALL the animals to the stress of shipping them again and it also seems reasonable that you would feel the same. Csey

This post is directed at Casey,  If you look at the E-mail the customer Jason stated "the sunbeams need some work, but thats ok" do you see where he said THATS OK?  If he was truly concerned about ther being something wrong he would have stated it and not said that it was OK.  Not that I am saying it is ok that the animals perished but He was fully aware of their W/C status and anyone who deals with Wild caught animals should always have their animals checked by a vet.  if a person can not afford to take their animals to a vet they should not purchase the animal in the first place.  All animals wether wild caught or c.b.b. should receive periodical check ups with a vet period!  I am not accusing This person of anything wrong, but I have come across customers of mine that have said " the animal arrived dead" only after I refunded their money that the animal was live and healthy.  If Jay was concerned for the animal then he should have made it more apparent when they arrived.  If I ship an animal and it arrives alive and the customer says the same thing that this customer of Jody's did then I would give them the information they want on wether the animal has fed and that is the end of the deal.  If the person calls or e-mails me 5+ days later to tell me the animal died, I am sorry but thats not my concern.  I always get upset when animals die, but when an animal is out of my control I cannot be held responsible for the other person's care of lack there of.  I don't want to sound like a jerk but in this case the animals arrived alive, he said he was happy with the Dumeril, and the Sunbeams were a fine, the female was a "little" but thats "OK" Thats the end of the guarantee.!

First of all let me apologize for confusing your gender Jodi.  Second of all, I have to agree with Dana in there must have been more communication and it would be good if that was posted as well.  Third of all, no one is going to guarantee their animals for 6 days because just like Jodi said they were no longer in his care and things can happen quick with reptiles if they are not treated properly.  And Rob , you are right there are two sides to every story, and I would like to hear the rest of this one from both sides.

I also agree with Gary and Dana that there must be more communication during those five days,  especially from Jody to Jason, and they should be posted as well.  Besides, Jason stated that he was happy with the Dumerils, and it didn't mean that he was happy with the whole deal.  The coin has two side, so let everyone see both

The email I sent him in reply is irrelevant. Since there was nothing to answer but his One question which was concerning a female dumerils monitor. Which if the sunbeams had been so sick they looked like death why would he want to buy more reptiles from me I ask??

The only email I had gotten concerning the sunbeams health and what I was going to do about it was on the 10th of October. By that time sorry the animals in questions have no guarantees. So anything else is simply just that irrelevant to this matter. If he would of said the sunbeams are sick I want my money back when he emailed me (WHICH HE DID NOT) then they would of been under the guarantee. But when he emails saying they are (OK) then guarantees are off and case is closed move on. I do not sell to make money or to rip people off if I did well I need to switch cause I am not rollen in cash. I raise reptiles simply cause I like animals and reptiles are my fancy. I have no need in ripping anyone off for any reasons.
Again it is always sad when animals perish but all I can do is try my best to see it not happen but sometimes it still happens. When they happen to be out of my hands there is no way I should be held accountable. if I had sold them as healthy fat tame captive born etc. then that might be one thing but I sold them as wild caught which is what he got. I cannot go to everyones house and baby sit them as they care for the reptiles therefore I cannot guarantee them for a long period of time that would be insane on my part. if you know someone who does well more power to them but I do not. I simply state the facts and leave it up to you the buyer if you feel like you want to purchase from me or not. If you do well great if not well thats fine too.

Again thanks to all my customers, <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Have a nice day

FIRST-yes,i knew the animals were WC.according to Jody.they were LTC,that were for sure feeding(i asked him4-5 times before the trade to make sure they were feeding, and he "for sured"me.these animals odviously had NEVER eaten in captivity.i'm not a first time buyer here,i've been keeping and breeding herps for 15 yrs now.
SECOND-he's leaving out a few of our conversations(I'm useing a different computer now but i will get the info tranfered and posted ASAP)that e-mail was 5minutes after the animals arrived, once they warmed up was when my first real concerns came out probably 2-3hrs later.the dumerils i was also for sured that was a ltc,was fully treated and eating very well.i ended up haveing to treat him myself,go threw 400 in vet bills, force feeding for 5wks,but now he his doing wonderful.            Jason Kiper
