In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sorry, I posted this as a reply to another post..

I bought a male pastel from a well known breeder this past weekend in Philly and it looked to be a bit thin. He assured me that it was fine.. My question is, it does have a noticeable ride on the back.. is that an underfed animal? It was hatched on 10/10/03 so it is real young.. The feeding card that was given to me said it only had one meal on 10/27 and he hadn't feed it since the 27th because he doesn't like to feed before bring animals to a show..

I feed him twice in this past week and he is very eager to eat..

Any one have any thoughts on some thing I should be doing that I am not?

Thanks,
A

Sometimes hatchlings are just thin like that, not much you can do.

As long as he's eating for you, keep feeding him. He'll be a little fatty before you know it!

Adam, How often should I be feeding him as not to harm him?? Or should I keep up every 3-4 days for a bit till he fattens up?

thanks,
A

Let him tell you how much he wants to eat ... If he'll take food twice a week, then there's nothing wrong with that.

Trust me, enjoy the feeding frenzy now, male ball pythons usually set things straight in their second winter ... LOL

I feed most of my hatchlings a meal that barely leaves a visible lump twice a week until they are about 500 - 600 grams. At that point I slow them down to either a weekly or bi-weekly schedule to ensure they are fit but not "fat" for breeding season.

Now females, thats a different story :D

Hope this helps ...

-Adam
