In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey, since everyone is here, I am having a problem(long)

With a gravid female. She layed one egg on the 2nd in the egg box and then a week later I found another in the poop corner. Now I thought something was wrong with her after she layed the first egg, but then found out she had some of the bedding from the lay box in her eye, so after that was takin care of she looked much better, but still wouldn't eat. On top of it she stoped eating almost 3 weeks before she layed , but I had a female that did that last year and still did great so i didn't think too much of it at the time since they usually pig out after they lay. But she will not go near food at all and seems depressed. She has gone from near 70 grams at breeding to 65 two weeks ago and she is now at 59 grams she is big so it looks thin on her.
Yesterday I saw her go to use the bathroom and it was only water and a little white discharge.
I have only bred for 2 seasons and have been very lucky I have never had a problem, but i am breeding more females this time.

I did go to the emergancy vet 2 weeks ago when she was walking around with her eyes shut right after she layed but they didn't know what they were doing and found nothing. I found the stuf in her eyes a day later.
I have finally found a vet in the area that seems to know what he is doing, and we are going there on monday, but I just wanted to know if anyone has made any major problems like this and what was the outcome.
She is still moving around from hide to hide and her eyes look good she just seems a little off. If I take her out she moves around like normal but she just dosn't look good. She seems very thin in the body area and her tail has gotton alot skinner. Her color is good though.
I can't think of anything aside from being eggbound but there aren't really any noticable eggs, or posabley she has munched on the bed a beast in the lay box, but i haven't seen any in her poop before, not that she is pooping now. I really can't think of anything else.
Like i said we are goingto the vet but I just wanted toknow if anyone has had any problems like this and what was done, so I have an Idea and know what to do/not do.
Thanks for any info.

Sarah...

I'm glad you are taking her to the vet... that's exactly what needs to be done before she gets worse. She has lost over 15 grams, and that is a very significant amount of weight. She most likely has a parasite load or a bacterial infection, and only a qualified vet can diagnose that and treat it.

Good Luck!

Thanks, i hadn't thought of bacterial infection. I did have a fecal done on her in october and it was clean so probably no parasites.

I agree it sounds like she may have picked up a bacterial infection. It wouldn't hurt to raise her temps until you get her to the vet. Don't let her get dehydrated, give her some pedialyte until you see the vet. Marsha also has a reciepe for a slurry that will help her if she is not eating. You just have to promise not to tell her husband that she puts mealies in the blender ;)
