kingsnake.com --- Inquiry

Hello all,
I had called kingsnake.com last week about advertising and was reffered to one of their departments. I did as I was told and e-mailed the department with a detailed e-mail and never recieved a response.
I was interested in website hosting and banner advertising and was very clear with my questions and never recieved a response.
After no response via e-mail , I called the company again and left a detailed message with my return phone number and still never recieved a response.
Has anyone else had these problems? I'm just trying to spend a substantial amount of money with a commercial website and nobody responds to my correpondences? I don't understand this.
Does anyone have any feedback? What should I do? Should I go to the companies adress and see if I can talk to a representative? Any feedback is appreciated.

John, since you're in Austin, and that's where Kingsnake.com is based, why don't you just give Jeff Barringer a call?  Don't know how he'd respond to that, but I'm sure if it's business he wouldn't mind too much.  Just a thought and don't mean anything harsh by it.

Ok you guys, this is MY opinion and just that... I think people just kiss up to Jeff B. because of kingsnake.com In My opinion the guy is a whining cry baby who isn't making much money at all with kingsnake.com and I know this as a FACT! He has hostility built up inside him and kingsnake.com gives him some power ego trip... believe me, I have had my problems with him and I am now just sitting back waiting for him to go under, it won't be long in my opinion. I hope you're reading this Jeff, I'm sure all your butt kissing buddies have informed you of this and you are. When kingsnake.com goes under and /or is sold and your looking for work down there in your trailer park, remember me, John Staursky, the pain in the a$$ because I will still be here thriving and making a good living 20 miles up the road from your trailer park!

• Why were you trying to sell kingsnake.com if it is doing so well?
• Why are you now trying to get $100 to host a forum if it is doing so well?
• If I wanted to get back on your site so bad why would I tell everyone what an idiot I think you are every chance I get? (thinking that is my opinion, and I am entitled to it, it is not attacking as you say)
• Yes, they let me move to Texas, but not into your trailer park Mr. Bigshot... you have a lot of people fooled but not me.

Maybe you offended them? All of this can be found on the old BOI, by the way, is this a good guy post or a bad guy post? Does this belong here at all?

I also tried to advertise with kingsnake.com 2 years ago and my web guy even tried to reach them..they never answered any of our emails,so i gave up tryin to advertise with them and i own my store..this is not a put down about kingsnake...just my experience with them...

Gee.......do ya think that MAYBE flaming them like that has anything to do with it?

And if you felt that way why the heck would you want to do business with them now?

Personally, if someone posted against me in that manner, I would remember  to just delete their e-mails unread as soon as I saw the name.......no matter HOW much business they wanted to with me.

Thanks for your replies... but what does that have to do with running a business? I sit around and complain about taxes and excersise my free speach all the time about the government yet they haven't written me off, they still take my money.
If either one of you guys were to inquire about purchasing a snake, I would reply to you, I wouldn't care what you thought about me.
Does that  make any sense?

Well here's a thought.....

Have you thought about spending some of your money here at this site to help support it with your advertising?

The other advertisers here are pulling the load so you have a place to post your ads and messages.  Why not help out?

Maybe KINGSNAKE.COM doesn't want your business, but with a bill coming up for the next 6 months lease on the server this site is running on, I sure could use the help.

There is a difference between you giving your money to the government and paying for services on kingsnake.  If you live here, the United States is providing you with the services, so you HAVE to pay for them.  Or you can leave, of course.  There are plenty of businesses that choose not to do business with certain people if they have had problems with them in the past.  That is part of owning your own business.  You can CHOOSE who you want to do business with.  Obviously, kingsnake has decided, for whatever reason to not do business with you.

Just so you know, my post was NOT a knock on you or your business. Was simply pointing out the reason why KS may be ignoring you.

I would avoid the headache in much the same way you stated above. Just take your business elsewhere......or is that elseHERE?

Let me tell you this.  Rich always responds when you have questions when you are an advertiser (or not).  I also want to let you guys know that this site does pull customers.  Every month the percentage of visitors to our site from here grows.  It is worth the money, and you will get an answer from Rich.

People, PLEASE!  My statement was not a solicitation at getting a pat on the back or an arm twisting.  I just read John's post and looked up at the top of the page to see a banner ad there.  I looked to the right of the page and saw another banner ad there as well.  And I'm thinking "What's wrong with this picture?"

Personally, I think you guys are smoking too much "wacky tabacky"....I have had a problem with Jeff in the past, but, we talked and straightened things out and got over it....I have never had an email go unanswered from Jeff....they might have been short, to the point answer...but, he was businessman-enough to answer....I just can't believe that ANY business would say no to someone wanting to buy their services....I think there has GOT to be another reason for this....it just doesn't make sense!
Even so....whether you advertise on KS or not....we should still all advertise HERE, also! My banner is doing very well on this site, and I will keep it here forever (give or take)! And, in case you were wondering....NO, my internet business has not slowed down at all...quite the contrary, I'm glad to say....thanks Fauna, Kingsnake AND everyone else who still believes in me (and there are a lot more than you might think)!! I'm not changing the way I do business!! I like it just the way it is. Growing! ....Neil

John, the people that I talk to tell me that Kevin Hanley is actually now in charge of much of Kingsnake.com particularily the reptile forums.  What I hear is that Jeff is basically backing off and staying in the background.  Is it possible that the old grudge that you had with Jeff is now moot because of this???   If this is the case, you may wish to contact Kevin directly to work out any differences and to hammer out a new contract.  With a site of that size, it's easy to see where E-mail would be missed during the conversion to new management.

You said it correctly.  Jeff is now the "personel" manager for KS...Kevin is currently the Webmaster for the site.  When I was getting my hosting setup (about 2 weeks ago) I was in contact with a person named Les Fowler.  His return e-mail was listed as "[email protected]"  I have been a big supporter of Jeff and his crew and they've treated me with nothing but respect.  I guess do unto others huh?  

Anyway, I highly doubt that they would descriminate against your dollar, it spends the same as anyone elses.  Then again, maybe Jeff has decided to "blacklist" you just to prove that you were wrong about his business ethics.  

P.S.  I did not mean anything personal in this message, I was just kidding about the "blacklist" idea.......

I contact them not to place an add but to complain about a seller that's ripping people off and is still advertising on their site. Never heard back from them and they never did a thing about that problem. If that's the way they handle their customer's concerns (I buy from kingsnake.com quite often) they might follow herpauction fate.

I did the exact same thing, I talked to Jeff B. on the telephone and point blank told him there was an untrue post on his website right at the moment and he said that wasn't his department!
I told him a minor was selling animals on his sight and was mis-representing them on his site and that I had sold him the animals so I knew this for a fact, again, he wasn't concerned with it!
He was very polite to me on the telephone until he knew it was me, then his whole demeanor changed. Pretty sad, I mean he is a grown man and he acts like a little girl. He has really screwed up our hobby in some ways if you think about it.

-The forums suck. They are an old archaic spammers dream. As a result they are full of nimwhits and dorks

-The classifieds have crackheads(mainly the ball python sellers).

-I don't know about this new webmaster, but Jeff was a limp one. I don't like him.
