In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

let's heas some of your husbandry tips... opr what one ting you can not live with out..
personbally a temp gun is one of the best tools out there and not having one would put in quite a predicament!!!
also i am a big fan of NEWSPAPER!!!!!!!!! best substrae hands down.... one tip i have learned over the years... keep it simple... you can go ahead and buy every fandanled new substrate... water bowl... plants... but in the end you boa will tear it all up and love the box it comes in better!!!!

The one thing I cannot live without would have to be my sturdy snake hook (so I can do the "work" part of husbandry when it is required) the next thing I WONT live without is a good quality thermostat, not using one is a bad idea.

randall what kind of thermostats do you use? my hooks my husband make and i get my tongs tweezers and hemos from midwest, great stuff.
the brand of bandaids i use are curad LOL they work very well and are reasonably priced!!!!
i have a male argentine that REALLY like the teaste of my flesh.

Hemostats!

Hemos are the one tool no herper should be without at feeding time. I have learned over the years that the best way to avoid bites during feeding is to keep your hands well clear of the food item being offered.

Temp gun
good thermostats
back up heat and AC
and the # for a good qualified herp vet are some other indespensable toools

ah and the number to a few super experienced herp friends you can call when you dont know what to do ... there will always be someone out there with more experience than you and if you dont know ask... even if you dont know anyone else if you have a problem come here and ask because chances are its prolly something we have either heard of or personally experienced ourselves... no question too simple to ask

I currently have been using the BAH 1000. (Big Apple Herp 1000 watt analog 3 outlet unit) It is around the $32.00 range and works extremely well. I average a 3 degree fluctuation which is completely acceptable with BCI and I prefer analog over digital thermos hands down. (I have heard of far fewer analogs going out then digitals) I also like the high wattage capacity of these units and the 3 plug in outlet on them is nice.

Wow, that was very helpful. I totally need a new thermostat. I paid for buying a low wattage rheostat because I was only plugging a few things into it. Oops. Being cheap can cost you in the long run.

I also use the BAH 1000 thermo and I LOVE it! As does my girl. If you're going to pick one up i also suggest swiging by the local hardware store to get some 2prong-3prong adapters, as the BAH 1000 only accepts two pronged stuff, and it seems everything I want to hook to it is three pronged! They're like 50 cents a piece at most, you can never have enough around!

And, I also couldn't live without my heat gun!
