• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My name is Sasheena Kurfman. I've been involved with kingsnakes for two and a half years. I started with three captive bred California King hatchlings in late 2001. Last year I bred two of those and got 8 beautiful eggs. I now have 6 california kingsnakes, 3 outer banks/Eastern kings, 4 blotched/goini kings, and one arizona mountain king. I don't consider myself an expert on kingsnakes, but I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable. I also have black rat snakes, cornsnakes, ball pythons, and a few other kinds of snakes.

A little about me on the non-herp side... I'm a high school teacher in Buckeye Arizona. When my husband and I were preparing for our wedding in 2001, we were also looking for a job. At that time we lived in Georgia. We investigated multiple jobs in Colorado, Washington DC, and one single job in Arizona. We chose Arizona and both teach at the same high school. He teaches biology and has a degree in genetics, I teach math and have a degree in statistics. My husband's three children visit us every summer.

If you have any questions about me, please post them in this thread. If you have any questions about your own snakes, please start a new thread. I'll answer within 24 hours.

When you post questions to this message, other people are less likely to read it and respond. I'm certainly not the only one here who knows a thing or three about snakes.

As far as eating a frog, to be truthful I don't know. Someone mentioned that frogs and toads often have their own toxins/poisons in their skin, rendering them inedible to most snakes and a delicacy for hognoses.

yup, school takes bit out of me at the beginning of the new year... 150 new names to learn in a week's time, discipline procedures to learn. it takes a bit!

I'm glad to BE back. :)
