In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have switched a large portion of my Bearded Dragons to Mercury Vapor Bulbs from 5% or 8% fluorescent bulbs, and they really seem to love the bulbs.. I have the exact same ( with 2 degrees) basking temp, and no other real differences,, But they seem more active, and overall a lot happier( if a reptile can be happy) that with the fluorescents.. The babies show a marked growth improvement with the MV bulbs,, just wondering if anyone else has seen a marked difference in there collection...
just for the record i am using the 100 and 160 watt "capture the sun" bulb from big apple...

We run the Zoo Med Powersuns on our dragons now. There is a vast difference. I think part of it is the intesity of the light (when we were running the Reptisuns we'd add an extra normal fluorescent bulb to add light). I know they have done research on humans and increased productivity at the work place due to more intense light, I'm sure some of that plays over into the reptile world.

Plus when your wall socket hungry it makes things easier :D

I use a Powersun Mercury Vapor bulb for my Bearded dragon, and I use a heat lamp and flourescent tube for my Rankins dragon. My beardy is clearly doing better than the Rankins, she seems more radiant and colorful with the mercury vapor bulb. I would use one for my Rankins, but she is in a 29 gallon long tank, so it gets way too hot. My Rankins does have some problems though, the vet diagnosed her with some sort of nuerological disorder, her limbs are swollen and she has a hard time getting around, so I need to keep the tank small. I was thinking about adding an ESU super coil lamp, but I havent yet. I do give her lots of supplements and calcium drops too. Her fecals have all come back negative, so I'm thankful for that.
