    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am curious as to who started using plastic of any type in their racks and cages first. Either privately or commercially. I have been using plastic for over 2 years, and I know quite a few who have been using it far longer than that.
Any comments about the various types of plastic used would be appreciated. Thanx. Casey

Hey Casey ...lol

Well if you beleive the "hype" its the innovator who else.
But all joking aside that could be a very deep question as im sure there are people who have used it for some time.I was actually approached about using it about 1 1/2 -2 yrs but like a fool i didnt lol . regardless IMHO itdoesnt matter who or when but the fact is its here now and everyone has the right to use it and not be chastised for it or looked down on or be told they copied anyone ....

I agree completely, Just because "you know who" is now using hdpe in his racks does not mean he is a "lesser" person for copying AP.

I have used plastic in enclosures off and on for a few years, I can't give an exact time frame. But I also had a friend that used it many many years ago in his larger enclosures for his burmese pythons and iguanas.. So NONE of the current manufacturers are the first they are only the ones that took it to the next level which should be commended to a degree, but also shouldn't be praised as "innovators".. And AP wasn't the first to use hdpe either...

I built my first cage using HDPE around 6 years ago.
I still use it occasionally for making large hide boxes and such, but I no longer use it for cages.
Here's a pic of three cages made from 1/2" HDPE. They are over 5 years old now.
