I previously posted the question about the turtle. Since then, this girl took it upon herself to "spur of the moment" buy a box turtle from the pet store.
I cannot belive she did this when the last turtle she got from there died and she said she would never buy from there again. And on top of that, a total of three turtles have died in her possesion in under 3 months.
So, less than 48 hours later, Mr. Skidmark is showing serious signs of respiratory infection. I had to tell her to, and go with her to the vet. She then received shots and directions on a high Vitamin A diet and cod liver oil every two days.
Now, two days after the visit to the vet, he is barely eating. Skidmark will only eat broccoli and very small amounts of it. Refused carrots, bok choy, romaine lettuce, all the things the vet said she needed to feed him.
Now, I already understand that she should not have bought this turtle without thourogh inspection. I am sure he was showing sighs of the infection then...infection takes a long time to develop.
The only way she noticed it is that she bought a care book, and when she got to the illness part, she looked.
So, what could it be causing him not to eat? Is it a reaction from the shots? Or the stress from the vet? I am worrying for this turtle, because the other three refused to eat just before they died.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
