Alright, first thing is first. Im only 14 years old. But my uncle and gramps taught me how to catch snakes when i was 8. I was over at my gramps place, going to a pond near by (you would think there would be alot of animals there). There were alot of toads, but that was about it *i do see deer every now and then, and theres a fox den near by, ive never seen a fox over here though*. So as im walking back to the house, i decide to try my luck on a trail throught the wilderness. I see a snake, dark brown with bloches on its neck, that turn into bands further down its back. I call my mother because i think its dead *it was in a akward position*. I thought she would know because she was raised there. As she is coming, i see its tounge flicking, my brothers rush up to the snake like its a common garter. I push them back, find a stick to try and pick it up *a forked stick, but i couldnt find one nearby*. I wanted it to strike at me to see if i could see any fangs, but after the snake went into a bush, i remember seing round pupils. When i got the stick, touched it, then it moved into a bush, my mother told me to grab its tail. Me being a smartass, i say "Oh yes, im going to reach my hand into a bush to grab the tail of a possible poisonous snake with me seeing his head". So the snake got away, and ive been wondering what it was. I goto my gramps place about 1nce a week. I find garters, worm snakes, and rat snakes. But nothing like that snake. The snake was about 2 ft, it looked like a hognose, but the thing i noticed about it was it didnt have a hoglike nose. But it did flatten his head out which made me suspect a hognose. I also have it on video, but i dont know if i can get it on the comp. It looked alot like this hognose snake.
