    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is there anything we can do to help delete old adds. Maybe encourage people to delete it after a sale or a time limit on adds. It is getting old hearing, OH sorry that sold a long time ago. Some adds are over a year old. Dont get me wrong I love the site just trying to suggest how we might be able to improve it.
Thanks

Anyone who wants to delete old ads only has to go to the User CP (Control Panel) and go to "Classifeds Control Panel" which will allow them to delete, edit, or 'bump up' old ads.

Obviously people aren't going back to delete old ads.
- so a reminder should be sent to the poster to renew it after 7 days, and then it should otherwise be deleted after 10 days, sort of like Craiglist.
It is annoying to see things still posted for sale that date from August....

Well, let me see a show of hands from everyone volunteering to go through all of those old ads and contact the people posting them.......

Seamus will......... ;)

How about a timer-like system where after a set amount of time (2 weeks, a month?) it simply does not get displayed. Maybe keep it in the User CP section to allow the user to repost it easily. I'd say reset the timer when bumped or when a reply is made. This would keep the ads sections relatively clean from the old stuff, but still allow unsold animals to be reposted. I'm not sure how much programming it would take but it would clean up the ads quite a bit. Just an idea.
