In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

encouraging to eat pelleted food?

You can moisten it, but it goes bad fairly quickly after you do... Some brands are a little more appealing than others and I have yet to see a really high quality nutrituional substitute for fresh greens that the animals would touch though... couple this with the fact that iguanas are built to utilize moisture from their food and pellets are pretty much a poor idea as anything other than a minor suppliment or for times when you plan on wandering away from the house for a weekend.

Hmm, never thought of the moisture intake... I am dieting anyway, so they will just keep getting fresh veggies :)

Some Ideas

I was having a problem with my iguana eatting his pelleted food and what I did was mix it with his Veggis and mist it with water and now his is eating it fine.

Hope this Helps!

I am not aware of any commercial iguana diets that do not contain animal protein in some form. As everyone knows, animal protein has no place in an iguana's diet. Also, as previously alluded to, the lack of moisture in the pelleted diets is a major issue. Without sufficient hydration, kidney failure is inevitable.

Fresh greens is the best choice for any iguana...

Iguana iguana anyway. If someone absolutely HAS to feed a pelleted fod as part of a green iggy diet (Really, just leaving them without food for a few days is probably better if it's really an issue) I'd probably choose the Zeigler Brothers stuff for general nutrition and RepCal as the one that's easiest to get them to eat... but it's really all about the appropriate greens and some minor supplimentation. No pelleted stuff, no dogfood, no crickets or mice (Gah!), ease off on the fruits since they're primarily foliovores and then mix it up often- both the foods offered and the areas they are offered in (encourage forrage feeding in healthy animals).
