In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does anyone have any positive or negative dealings with Steve Brown from Maryland?

Does anyone have any kind of communications what so ever?

What were your experiences?  How did your deals go?

Was the animal all of a sudden sold to someone else once he found out you lived close by?

I would like to hear all experiences please.

thanks.

Let me preface my comments with the following... if you buy from Steve Brown of Maryland, chances are you'll get SCREWED... that being said, please read on!!!

I had a deal with Steve Brown last year of Maryland and I originally wrote it off as bad luck, but I am pretty sure I got screwed...

Last year I sent him (I can't remember exactly) a breeding pair of nice Jungle Carpet Pythons (a screamer male) and a redtail.  In return I was to get a 1.1 pair of young GTP.  I shipped first and when his package arrived her in Seattle, it was empty.  He shipped via the USPS and told them it was snakes.  At first I thought he might be new to shipping, but he has some pretty highend stuff (at least he claims to have it) I am sure he knows better.  He keeps saying that he will make better and cut me a deal on something he breeds... but of course I have had to email him and each time its not much of a deal!

So I am out a nice pair of Jungles I could have bred this year and a sub-adult redtail, I wouldn't do business with him if I were you!

Ryan Spahr

Thank you Ryan.  I will tell my friend to read this.

now for my story.

My friend here at work saw his add last Thursday or Friday and wrote him about it.
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/cgi-bin....vebrown

Everything was going good.  On Saturday 3 pm Steve wrote my friend and gave him an address of where to send the payment.
It just so happens it is only thirty miles away.  So my friend wrote him back on the same day and said....he would prefer to pick up.  On Sunday  Steve wrote back and I quote

Hi,
Somehow I received the payment for the boa group
that was supposed to be sold 1 month ago.  So, I have
to decline on the deal, since the other buyer was
first.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I still have
tree boas available is you are interested.  Steve
</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>  so on sunday he received payment.  Looking at his add he was wanting check or money order.  I did not know the mail ran on sunday

Come Monday July 29,  I had a friend in Washington DC who was also interested in the albino.  Steve says </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">there is a deal pending....by the way where are you from </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> my friend had cash as well and said I can come pick up...I am in the DC area.....all of a sudden no more contact

both of these people sent ALL the e-mails to me.  So i decided to have a friend in Arizona write to him today.

Guess what ....the animals was all of a sudden available.

What is my point?
If an animals is available for sale.....but only to people outside the state.  WATCHOUT !!!
If you have cash in hand and a deal pending...then you decide to inspect the animals....then all of a sudden they are sold.......BE CAREFULL

maybe webslave can change the tittle from Inquiry to Shady.

can't say he is a bad guy yet....well maybe..

But we can definately say he is shady

Ritchie...After screwing and lieing to at least four people...you still can't say he's shady?? Well, I sure as heck can! I've never done business with him before...and I can guarantee that I never will in the future! I'd be willing to bet he doesn't have one snake he advertised....I'd love to see where he gets the pictures he claims to be able to send everyone??
It's obvious that he doesn't want anybody to know where he lives?? He might have even given you the address for a mail-drop....What he's doing is very underhanded and misleading....I wouldn't touch him with a fork-lift!! ...Neil

<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> Thanks Ritchie for all your home work. I almost sent a payment for the albino boa he advertised.

It's been awhile, but this is what I can remember. I had inquired about the albino boa. He told me it was sold. Two or three weeks later I get a email from saying the money never showed.

Since it had been awhile I asked him to give some info on the boa and a recent pic. If I remember correctly, the reason I was interested in the boa because in the ad it was 4-5 ft and was born the year 2000.

I think he forgot what he put in kingsnake classifieds, because his most recent email to me said he was 2.5 - 3ft., born 2001 and didn't have any recent new pics for me ( the latter I could've waited for ).

Since I'am looking for adults or sub-adults, I told him thanks for the responses.

The moral of the story for me..........USE BOI.

Thanks,
  Derek Yagi

Neil
I was trying to change my ways and be nice....
I guess it is not working....I might be over doing it just a bit.

anyway this is a picture of the 2.3 to 3 foot albino that eats small rats.

Maybe it is just the pic...but it looks awful huge for a 2.5 to 3 footer.  Just my opinion though.

As always I put it on my website for quick and easy posting.

Steve_Brown_Albino.jpg

Derek your welcome.
He could have sold the boa already....if he would just let my friend pick it up in person....But no....he told my friend it was sold.  Then he tried to sell it to someone out of state....hhhhhmmmmmmmm

Ritchie...the snake in that picture is at least 6 feet long and probably well over 15 pounds!! You can sort of tell by looking at how big the pine shavings are compared to the snake....I'm sure you've seen enough shavings in your life to remember the size they are?? They are close to 1/2"-1" long!!
Not only that...but, I could swear I've seen that picture before...wonder where it came from??....of course...with my memory, I could be wrong! ....Neil

Hi all,
I need to appology to all of the people that have inquired the female boa.  Yes it was sold.  But I was in the process of getting aother female from Chen Lai, a friend of mine that also live in MD.  Every time I got a inquiry on it, I ask chen if he would sell her to me, he would reply yes.  And then he would call me and regret his decision.  So I would just have to decline the offer again and delete the inquiry( too many emails).   I didn't realize how this situation would made me look like a crook.  However, there was no one that was burned over this situation, because I did not intend to rip anyone off.  And Chen has actually posted his ad a few days ago, he just wants to see if he can sell it by himself or not.
And for ryan, the situation between us was resolved when you told me that the box appeared to be opened, and it was not my fault.  Also I said when the jungle python reproduces, I will send you few offspring for free or you can purchase any animals I have at a discount price(and I have gave you some prices on the animals I had, you didn't follow through).  So, my offer to you still holds.

LOL...  Sorry all, I guess I caused all of these mad buyers.  Yes, I am the one that kept on changing my mind about selling steve my boa, I just rather sell it myself and make the money.  PS, my boa is availabe, anyone interested?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>???
And for the 6' estimate, you are so off, it's probably only 2.5'!  Don't think that all shaving come in one size, ever been to farm co-up?  They sell pounds of small shaving for 7 dollars.  Anyway, steve called me and wanted me to tell my side of story.  So, here is the fact, I've known him years personally, and I've seen his stuff.  The only person that I known had a bad trade was ryan, but it was resolved(not sure why he kept on bring it up).   Other than that, he is one of the most honest people I've dealt with.  Plus, aint' nothing better than a animal that is from a well-cared and parasite free collection.  That's all....

Steve,

That is a crock of chit.

Yes, it was your fault. You received 3 snakes. He received nothing.

That is an admission of guilt right there. No where did you mention on here your terms of sale. Neither yourself nor Ryan has said anything about you "not being responsible for carrier mishandlings or mishaps". Thus, you ARE responsible to either return his animals or replace the "lost" pair of Chondros. You got what you wanted and are now shirking your responsibilities. It is cowards like you who are giving honest reptile businessmen a bad name.

As for the rest of your post, I am laughing my @ss off too hard at the moment to comment on that!!!  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

On Monday you told Christy it was deal pending.....  but when you found out she was in DC all of a sudden no contact.

Why would you offer it to Robert who is out of State....when Brian and Christy are right here wanting to pick it up?  Judging by your e-mail....no matter how many times you changed your mind...it should have gone to brian.

No one got burned so it is okay?
A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE

No instate sales?
makes you think don't it?

A quote from your July 25 Add

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">0.1 subadult albino redtail boa, she is early 01' baby, and doing great!  I was keeping her for future breeding, but I have a new project coming.  I already did half of the work, so why buy a new born?  Deal fell through, she is up for grab again, ONLY 1100</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

according to the add...YOU HAVE THE ANIMAL
what you are telling us now is  YOU DON'T

So what are you doing selling an animal you DO NOT have?  And representing it as if you do

Interesting...  If a breeder is too nice, he is a fake; if he is too mean, he is a rip off.  All I can say is that whatever he does, perhaps he didn't want to sell instate, perhaps he did lie, but no one was burned, he didn't rip anyone off.  I just don't see the big deal in this....    I am sad to say another good breeder has his name ruined...  Just my thought...  I guess I am being smart to just sell mostl of my produced babies to large stores, so I don't have to deal with the public.  Just too much to deal with.

<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> Is honesty really too much to ask for??

Hey CKI....You're going to tell me that the snake in Ritchie's picture is ONLY 2-1/2-3 feet long??? I DEFY YOU to post another picture of THAT snake with a "quarter" in the pic to show size....Make sure you get the tail section in the photo, too! I was born at night, pal...but, it wasn't Last Night!! ....Neil
