In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I order a male Hi yellow gecko from her. She was supposed to ship ups next day air. Instead she choose to use a cheaper method that didn't guarantee early delivery. So when my Leo arrived at 1:30 pm it was dead. Had been cooked while riding around in the ups truck. For all i know it may have been dead when it shipped. It was in the same pose as the picture when it arrived. She think she has no responsibilty in this and will only pay the the price of the leo not the price of her discount shipping.
this is her reply.

I never mentioned, wrote, or said that I gaurantee live delivery via Delta only. I mentioned that in my previous email because none of the couriers except Delta Dash as far as I know gaurantee live arrival. The only courier mentioned in this transaction was UPS and that is the only courier I have ever used. You can go on Kingsnake and start a flame war and I will file a complaint with Kingsnake for harrassment and will post my side of the story on Kingsnake.

I am going to block your emails now, you can send the gecko back to me and I will then refund the purchase price of $30:

Why didn't she use a heat pack? When will delares get it through their thick heads to use a heat pack (more like several) during weather like this!

Justyn,
If you read his post, it clearly states that the gecko was "cooked" meaning that it was overheated. A heatpack would have only made the situation worse.

Brian,
We are sorry to hear about your situation and we feel that her statement about blocking your emails from now on seems a little fishy. If you have not, you should report her to Kingsnake.com (if that was where the add was and where you bought the gecko) so that hopefully she will not continue to do this to others.
It is possible that a mistake could have been made, and we are not casting judgements towards either person; however, unfortunately a gecko has lost its life and Jeanne's customer service is lacking in this instance!

Did you read her terms of service? Does she state any gaurantees of live arrival? Does she state if she uses UPS next day, next day early am, next day saver etc.

Sometimes ups just kills things. I ship the best possible way i can at the time i do, and I have even lost 0.2 Carrot tail leos in shipping last month. But again im replacing them with 1.2, once it gets cooler.

OK I am confused here They only guarantee live arrival if shipped through Delta? Well first off Delta's shipping prices really do scare me , but most everyone I know guarantees alive arrival no matter who the carrier, it is all in the way you package the animal, But it seems as if she opted for second day, or even afternoon delivery?
I have recieved geckos via usps with my regular mail, and getting my mail around 3 p.m. all my geckos were alive, because the packaging was awesome.
Corey, my best guess would be to get your money for the dead gecko and call it good, because they don't seem to want to do the right thing and refund the shipping.
Blocking your emails is horrible way to handle customer service, it's like wal-mart standing in the doorway not letting you in to return something. Come on people in business sometimes you gotta face the complaints and figure out if there is a solution or not, but to just ignore, not answer, and block someone is wrong.

Well, Corey good luck.

Come on folks, sending anything that is living should be sent as quickly as possibly, by the best carrier, and if an additional expense is necessary then so be it. This requires nothing but common sense and a little consideration for the animal.
This is the end result, the unnessary killing of a poor gecko that never had a chance and probably suffocated due to heat exposure. Pathetic. JERRY TRESSER

She has a tendency to change her story. I my fisrt emial i have and email where she says hse never said what is in this email

"I do not gaurantee the live delivery of animals shipped by any courier other than Delta Dash. As I stated before I am willing to refund you the $30 cost of the gecko after you send the body back to me. I am not obligated to refund you shipping costs and I am not responsible for cicumstances beyond my control which occured after I shipped and the gecko was no longer in my posession. "

I have had younger leo deliver recently and had no problems. By the seller shipped Using UPS next day that guaranttes morning delivery so it doesn't get hot. This woman appears to have no remorse about causing the death of this beautiful gecko. I am more angry that the poor guy died becuase she choose to save a few dollars. If she had asked for more for shipping to guarantee morning delivery i would have paid. She said she was going to ship next day air. I didn't realize the had different degrees or that someone would risk the lizards life to save money. the cup she sent him in also seem kind of small for a 30 gram male. the papertowel on the bottom of the cup was torn where he had tried to dig out. I'm still very sad and very very angry.

I'm posting this response to let everyone know exactly what transpired in regards to the Gecko that I sold to Brian Bladow as I will not stand for having my name slandered on this Forum or anywhere else. I will also be posting on the BOI.
I am NOT and never claimed to be a breeder/dealer of Geckos or any other herps, just a keeper and hobbyist like many of you here on the Forum.
I have a few Geckos that I have raised and I am selling a few of them on the Classifieds.
Brian contacted me in regards to purchasing one of my Geckos.
He contacted me via email and asked if the Gecko was still available and how much the shipping costs would be to Las Vegas.
I told him the total cost including shipping and he agreed to send the payment via PayPal.
This email conversation took place close to the weekend so I asked him if he wanted the Gecko shipped the following week (Monday) so as to avoid the Gecko possibly getting held over somewhere for an entire weekend should it be delayed for some reason and he said Monday would be fine.
I told him that I would send him the tracking # after the Gecko had been shipped and we had no contact with each other until the day he received the Gecko.
I shipped the Gecko out as planned and sent him the tracking # later that day.
He emailed me before he received the Gecko saying that UPS told him that he wouldn't receive the Gecko until late Tuesday night around 7:00pm or Wednesday morning. I shipped the Gecko on Monday for Tuesday arrival and was told the arrival time would be 1:30pm so I was not responsible for whatever delays may have occurred as stated by UPS to Brian.
He then emailed me a few times before receiving the Gecko saying that the Gecko better not show up dead and that he hoped that I guaranteed live arrival.
He then emailed me repeatedly that saying the Gecko arrived dead and wanted his money back plus the shipping costs.
I told him that I would refund the cost of the Gecko minus the shipping costs which is a standard practice of many dealers and hobbyist that I and others I know have dealt with.
I also told him that I was not responsible for circumstances occurring during transit after the Gecko had been shipped.
I had no live arrival guarantee, that was never a term of the sale agreement, especially shipping via UPS or other courier.
I hear Delta Dash is the only shipper that offers a guarantee on live reptiles. I have never shipped via Delta so I can't say for sure.
He then continued sending harassing and threatening emails (all of which are saved) and continually refused my offer to refund the cost of the Gecko which I offered to him repeatedly.
He then said the Gecko was probably dead when I shipped it and threatened to slander my name on Kingsnake and the BOI so that no one would buy from me ever again.
I would like to clarify a few things.
He agreed on the shipping date, no problem. He lives in Vegas and knows that at this time of the year it is extremely hot there yet he never mentioned weather/shipping concerns or cold packs until after he received the Gecko. The Gecko was shipped properly packed on the agreed date.
UPS was the courier used (buyer had no problem with using UPS) and if you have any live animals shipped that way you know that there is always a chance of delays or having the animal exposed to extreme conditions during the shipping process.
Delta Dash was never mentioned or offered as an alternative means of shipping.
I wasn't going to respond to this flame war that Brian has started to make himself out to be a hapless victim, but I told him that I wasn't going to stand for his threats to slander my name on this or any other Forum.
Those of you who have dealt with me in the past know that I'm not the scammer that this guy has tried to paint me out to be.
In summary, I shipped the Gecko on the agreed date, using the agreed courier and when he contacted me saying that the Gecko arrived dead I did not hesitate at any time to offer him a refund minus the shipping costs.
A lot of sellers would not have even entertained the thought of offering a refund of any amount, especially after putting up with this guys crap.
He got upset that I wouldn't refund the shipping costs and is now making the story larger than it is and that is what this is all about.
Now I have to do this all over again on the BOI.
Sorry this is so long, but I couldn't let this person continue to talk trash without letting you know there are two sides to the story.
Thank You
Jeanne

I have never stated that i would slander you. We agreed to next day air. which guarantees delivery by 10:30am. You never mentioned shipping with a cheaper version that did not guarantee morning delivery. i you had would have cancelled or never placed the order. You choose to save money with a cheaper next day air you are responsible for the results.

What matters is the shape of the animal when it arrives. Anytime an animal arrives dead I feel the person that bought the animal should recieve a full refund. It should not be the responsibilty of the buyer to say make sure and put cool pack in with the animal. It is the fault of the buyer not to make sure that there is a live arrival guarentee, then again it is horrifying to me that one did not exist. You do not have enought faith that you packed the animal right and was healthy enough to surrive a trip, even a delayed one and arrive alive. You say you are a hobbiest, but if you sell an animal you must practice good business. I know it hurts to replace or refund the amount, but it is the right thing to do.
Bryan Self

Jeanne,
I cannot believe you do not offer alive arrival at all, only through delta, are your animals that bad that you can't give a guarantee? A healthy animal should have survived the shipping even a little delayed. I have to question your business policies.
I agree that you should give a full refund, including shipping, when a customer pays for shipping, especially the prices today, you should make sure that animal would make it through a nuclear blast and still arrive alive, and offer a guarntee. He paid money to recieve something alive, did he pay for the shipping of a dead gecko? If you want to save face, refund the shipping!
I believe you hurt your reputation more than he did. You need to make things right and change your policies.

How about making this thread a little bit more useful?

Like adding a full name and contact info on this person within a message here. How many people named 'Jeanne' do you suppose there are in the state of Massachusetts?

Please do so as soon as possible, or I will have to delete this entire thread. It serves no real purpose without identifying specifically whom you are referring to.

Thanks.

Jeanne....This is one sentence you wrote that I just "can't" understand!!

...He lives in Vegas and knows that at this time of the year it is extremely hot there yet he never mentioned weather/shipping concerns or cold packs until after he received the Gecko...

Are you telling us that you KNEW he lived in Vegas, and you didn't "automatically" include a cool pack??? In the SUMMER??? Are you nuts?? Then, you ship the Gecko UPS Saver....and you will only refund the money for the Gecko??? You are SO WRONG in this situation! He shoudn't have to pay one cent for YOUR mistake!! This had nothing to do with UPS...I've shipped Frogs and Leos and small chams all over the US using COOL PACKS...and have never had a problem....you are dead wrong for handling this the way you are....you owe him a complete refund including his shipping fees....now, come on, we're talking about $50 total TOPS! You would let that kind of money get to this point in the first place??? You must have a busines death wish! Do the right thing....post your full name, and send him his full refund! ....Neil

here is a copy of an email she sent me. I have returned the body to her. now to see if she does the right thing.

If you are thinking of slandering my name, just remember there is 2 sides to every story. I am doing the right thing by offering to refund the purchase price of the gecko and now you want to start harrassing and slandering me?

If I receive one more harrassing email from you I will block your email messages from reaching me. I am trying to keep this professional and I expect the same from you. When or if I receive the gecko from you I will refund the $30 to you.If I don't receive it I will assume you are not sending it.

Brian,
Well if she doesn't give out her full name, tell us her e-mail address Also, what did you put on the box when you sent it back, just Jeanne? Does she have another name?
How about her address ? The point I am trying to make is by telling all that you know if in the future we come across maybe just an address that you gave us and a different name, we will know to ask a lot of question or even avoid doing business with them.
I do believe she owes you a full refund, and I hope you get it. You did the right thing by sending the body to her, now all you can do is wait and keep us informed.

Thanks,
Torie Miller

Thank you Neil for bringing up the fact that NEITHER party should have allowed an animal to be shipped in heat like that without a cool pack (if at all this time of year). Vegas can be 112 degrees at midnight this time of year...I've been there when it was.

Jeanne....SHAME ON YOU for being cheap and not making sure that the gecko 1. didn't ship for early arrival (which is guaranteed for a lot of places) and 2. that you didn't use a cold pack. Watching the weather where you are shipping to is your responsibility. You should have checked the weather and mentioned your concerns (if you even were bothered to think about it) Most buyers are more than happy to wait a couple of weeks so that their animals have the best chance of arriving safe and sound.

If you are a hobbyist, then those geckos should be like kids to you...would you ship a favorite pet dog or cat or a child like that? Would you want to be treated the same way, having the other side not seem to care as long as they get their money?

You should refund him every cent he gave you or send out a replacement FREE OF CHARGE for your mistakes.

I have to agree that the cold pack should have automatically gone in the box with the little guy to keep the temp down during shipping!!

I would like to add that the delivery choice through UPS SHOULD have been UPS Next Day Air Early Am Delivery....
WIth ANYTHING LIVE it is worth the extra couple of bucks to get the animal there the quickest way possible.

Some of the people out there are really forgetting that no matter if the animal was worth $1 or $50K - it is a living thing.... it's a shame!
