i have a beautiful male iguania who is about 4.5 to 5 feet. he is very tame and doesnt bite. takes showers with humans, and used to be poody trained with the toliet. ive stopped putting him on the toliet so now he will go in his cage but he doesnt like to. i ve taken him on vacations to the river and the beach he is an excellent swimmer. i have had him for 7 years and im just too busy for him and i dont have the time or the money. if you want him, you must promise to take good care of him and if you later decide you dont want him, bring him back....i do love him i just am too busy. he is really like no other iguania in this world. he will need a bigger cage right now he has a 70 gallon tank that he fits into but not comfortably and he will get bigger. if your a first time lizard owner, i will teach you all that you need to know.

for real? Like he'll just go find the crapper by himself and take the throne???

I think you should keep the tank and have whoever takes him, buy a proper cage for him.... that way if you keep the tank the next owner won't be tempted to keep him in it...

This is a serious inquiry. My father is a vet so I will be able to care for him and I have had a lot experience with the iguanas that come through his office. I have already constructed an enclosure that is 6'x8'x5'.

I never asked you, and I'm aware of the date of the post, I just felt it was worth a shot.

Stephanie, you joined yesterday and have posted 9 times in year or two old adds. If you look around in the Adoption forum, there are quite a few iguanas that need good homes there.
Another good one is ChaosExotics. They are a Alberta based rescue and have many iguana's in need of a good home. There are also a few reptile rescues in your area in BC. If you search on google, you'll find them. Almost every single Reptile rescue has more adult iguanas than it knows what to do with.
Any adds over a few months old, are probably not available.

Stephanie, they are only attempting to help you get what you want. Why are you so defensive and angry over it?
To immediately go to vulgar language is not indicative of a stable home for a pet, and I don't want anyone looking at your posts to get the wrong idea about you. Maybe you are having a bad day?
I hope you find a iggy to love.

!. yes I am having an extremely bad day.
2. the iggy is not for me, the iggy is for a very close friend of mine and i'm helping him look for a new one because his passed away recently. so my actions should not be taken into account.
3.I have refrained from using vulgar language and gfisher2002 has messaged after me on more than one thread. I am irritated with him and want him to leave me alone.
4. I am not a people person whatsoever which is why i stick to animals, so any animal i have is very well taken care of wether you think i'm capable of giving them a stable home.
5."I hope you find a iggy to love" THANK YOU!! ^^

1. Obviously.
2. But they will be.
3. You haven't refrained very well. And I posted trying to help you in ONE other thread. One that is also a 2 year old add, just like the numerous others you have posted to. You won't find an iguana posting to old adds. I was pointing it out incase you didn't notice to HELP you.
4. No kidding.
5. I hope you seek professional help and then, once stable, attempt communication with other humans.

Have a GREAT day and a WONDERFUL week. :) :)

I hope you have a terrific day. I could only image what a pleasure it would be to meet you in person.

Cheers!! :)

this thread is old, the ig has probably been adopted by now of the owner would have replied before now. I don't know where youy are located, but i do know that iguanas are always needing a home, check some other sites:
http://market.rescuenetwork.org/index.php?cat=10

as of today, they have two ads for igs that need homes, I'm sure you could work out a pick up or shipping if the owner is willing to. However, i would also check out local rescues in your state.

http://www.anapsid.org/societies/#lists

you can google iguana rescue and your state and probably find at least a couple. I know you would like to surprise your boyfriend, but you may also want to plan ahead before you adopt to make sure you have enough food and anything the iggy might need, and set up a spot or two that is his place to chill. i know a lot of people let them free roam, but you should probably clear out a room that is just for him/her to chill in in case of any emergencies or unexpected visitors. whatever, anyways, if you would like some help, i have a lot of bookmarked rescue sites and i can look for ones that ship or are near you specifically if you wnat to PM me.
GOOD LUCK!!! ;)
