In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well folks, here you go. A new place to come and post pics, and talk about our favorite subject. I have gone to a bit of trouble to get this started, so I hope you all like it. If you like it,...use it. Then go back to the old forum, and encourage others to come here. Then stop participating in any discussions over there. If you don't like it, contact the powers that be here, and I am sure they will see what they can do to help. I just figured it was time for a change. I hope it was a change for the better. If we don't use this forum, it will be terminated. If we keep using the old forum, this one may not survive. If we do use this forum, it will survive. So it's up to you folks. Now you have a choice. Let's leave out all the personal, and political stuff, and just talk about these amazing creatures. I hope you all like this place, and I hope we can all come here in the spirit of learning, and shareing about the greatest of all serpents. The Indigo. Perhaps when it is all said and done, we will all come away from this place each day, with a new piece of wisdom about these beautiful animals that we did not have before. Perhaps someone who knows nothing at all will come here, and learn what we already know. That the coolest of all snakes, is the Indigo, up to and including all of his cousins. So let it begin. Good luck, and thanks to all who come here to share!
Tony-thesnakeman-Carlisle.

Guess I'd better...

Check in too. My dilemma right now, is what I'm going to get in the next few years. I'm holding out for ONE thing (I won't even mention it, I don't want to pique any one elses interest), but not sure if it's gonna happen, so I'm studying and trying to decide. I like snakes with an insane, strong feeding response. I'm not ready for (and likely will NEVER be ready for serious venomous, so those are out).
Going to have to unload my cave ratsnake first though, so not in a huge hurry yet. Just taking my time and going to see what happens with patience and research. Any suggestions, descriptions etc. are of course welcome.

Thane

Get More People over HEAR!!!!!!!!!

Yes,...that's a great idea! I have e-mailed everyone on the breeders list at indigosnakes.com. I would like to post an anouncement about this new forum on the OLD forum at ksnake.com,....BUT,...I can't. Long story. But Iv'e been kicked out of there due to little urination demonsrtation between myself and the powers that be at ksnake. So I keep asking for a brave volunteer to go over there to the OLD indigo forum at kingsnake.com, and POST that this NEW one is here! So please go for it! I would if I could, BELEIVE ME! Then everyone will know about it. Thanks,
T.

Great! It's far time Dry keepers had their own forum here!

I think I know what it is.....starts with an "M", right?;)
Okay, I'll shut up now.

Chris

It's a...

Mussurana. Alright, now ya know. Lemme alone now :) Just really want one someday and don't need any MORE competition than already exists amongst us.

word

I know. I'm just being weird. My favorite hobby is keeping snakes, particularly the unusual ones. Goes without saying most will consider me (us) odd :)
Anyways, I've decided to keep the collection small (two, maybe three) so I'm wanting/looking for the ones I'm most interested in. Got a couple choices. First choice you now know, second choice (if I can't find first choice in the next two or three years) I'm working on deciding still. I like snakes with super strong feeding responses (like indigos or worse). No deadly venomous though. I'm not experienced enough, nor interested enough to keep anything deadly.

Clelia

Sounds like a good plan, Thane,

Clelia spp. should be right up your ally, as would D. c rubidus. Also, I wouldn’t count out Pseudaspis cana either..

Jeff

clelia

I didn't know the mole snakes had that nutty feeding response. I undertstand that they have pretty powerful jaws and therefore a nasty bite though. I'd want more info. on them. I'm looking into hydrodynastes too. Just considering the options.

African Mole Snakes

P. cana do have a powerful bite, much like that of Drymarchon. They also harbor an incredibel feeding response and are generalists too, accepting most any food items offered.
They give live birth and are capable of producing 50 plus babies per litter.
The Hydrodynastes gigas are a lot of fun. Just watch for the hood, once one begins hooding, it means business. Otherwise, they are generally docile and quite handleable..

Jeff

Hmmm

Not certain why that paragraph broke so soon, the "they" I was referencing, are the P. cana!
Also, forgive the way I spell you (yuo) as I tend to become dyslexic whil typing, not to mention, my fingers are blind..

Jeff

Ahoy!

Hey everyone,

Quick post - but I just wanted to say hey and let you know you've snagged another board member (read about this one at the "old board"). I've nosed around and this seems like a real cool board.

I myself am a relatively new indigo owner (an almost five month female I got from Rob Carmichael).

Stay around...

It's a little slow right now. Holidays, freezing cold weather and snake maint. going on right now. Things will pick up eventually though. Just keep checking in.

Freezing??

Thane,

It's 70*F where I'm at! No freezing weather here for a while to come. :spinner03
Not only maintenance going on, this is breeding season for Drys!
How about sending some of that cold weather my way!
It's sad, having to use the A/C to chill my herp rooms in the winter, so my native Drys will feel "frisky"...

Whoops!

Sorry Josh!

I forgot to welcome you aboard! It's great to have you here.
Congratulations on the acquisition of a young Eastern from Rob. He produces some great animals...
