    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i'm new to this turtle thing and have been looking everywhere or help. any advice you can provide would help.

i am the foster mother to 2 red eared sliders. one is about the size of a post-it note, and the other about the size of my hand. i don't know a lot about them, as they were my mom's boss' kids. the kids outgrew them, and were just going to get rid of them when i said i'd adopt them. the people that had them had virtually no stuff for them...just a 10G tank, food, and a rock.

since i've had them i've been reading up a lot, and now they have a 30G tank, a filter (zoo med 501), a turtle dock, a basking light, etc.

i wanted to get a heater for their water since i live in a cold area and read that their water should be 78-80 degrees F. i had one for a fish tank, and it cracked. people have suggested those under tank heaters like you'd use for an iguana. does that heat hte water?

what can anyone recommend? i wish i knew of something specific for a low depth tank.

sorry this is so long. any help appreciated!
