• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Registration problems....

When you have completed the registration process, a validation email is sent to your registered email address that contains a link within it that is necessary for you to click on in order to FULLY complete this process. Failure to either receive the message or to not click on that link will leave you in a limbo state where you cannot fully access the site, nor can you re-register using the same user name or email address.

Several things can happen to cause you to not receive this validation email, with the most likely one being that your ISP is blocking you from received some of your email. As an example, EarthLink sends me this sort of message whenever a person using their services tries to register on this site:

This is an automatic reply to your email message to [email protected]

This email address is protected by EarthLink spamBlocker. Your email message has been redirected to a "suspect email" folder for [email protected]. In order for your message to be moved to this recipient's Inbox, he or she must add your email address to a list of allowed senders.

Click the link below to request that [email protected] add you to this list.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time nor inclination to followup on this sort of thing, so you will not be able to complete the registration process because of your ISP. Personally, I would be quite irritated at my ISP taking it upon themselves to decide which emails I get and which ones I don't, but you can handle it whatever way you think is best. There are quite certainly other ISPs that do this sort of thing, which is quite unfortunate, because in some respects their cure for SPAM is as bad or even worse, then the disease itself.

So be aware that if you don't get that validation email that you may want to discuss this issue with your ISP to see if that SPAM blocking mechanism they are employing is optional. There may very well be other emails you would perhaps wish to receive that they are taking upon themselves to keep from you.
