• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Everyday I read what's going on in several places here on Fauna. One of my favorite things are the sigs that show up under the name on the posts. Some make me laugh, some are just really neat, some make me think, and some are...well,...just stupid (IMO). Maybe I just "don't get" those.

Anyone else find these amusing? I'm trying to figure out my favorite one, but there are many.

I think with all the things you're able to customize on Fauna (title, name, avatar, and signature) you can really get an idea of the personalities of some of the people posting here. I love reading profiles too :)

I've gone from many different signatures while online. One thing I wish would remain, are the "sig lines" from when you post a message. But the sytem just changes all the old posts to include your new signature line.

Now that I'm a contributing member, with a huge avatar, etc, I start to think that I need a large signature, just to take up the extra space! nah.

I think the biggest thing to bug me about signatures are grammatical errors. 50-line signatures including every dust mote in the house as a pet, those also get to me.

I should just have a signature that reads ...

approximately 10.30 snakes of all shapes and sizes...
1/2.1 cats (one doesn't have his balls anymore, so he's really only a 1/2)
1.0 hubby
1.2 step-kiddies
zillion.zillion rodentia living and dead.
75.75 students

But see... that's not terribly clever either.

Ah well, at least my snakes like me.

Do you actually read those? I find it funny when the people have a lone male or female of species but have 12 different species. I think those people must have some sort of a commitment problem.

I'm an avid reader of sigs and profiles. I like to fancy myself a good judge of character  and enjoy the subtle insights into others' personalities that they provide.

My favorite sig of all time is Webslave's. It makes me laugh.

:) So having only one or two of each species but many different species means someone is a commitmentphobic? :)
