• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What kind of job does everyone have?

Well I'm a high school math teacher. :) I have a degree in Statistics, and have been teaching at a public high school three and a half years, private high school the year before, and a college the year before that. Hubby is a high school science teacher with a degree in plant genetics.

Of course in my spare time I raise my snakes, rats, and mice, make a little bit of money for the snakes and rats and mice, and mostly just enjoy letting the money go into the hobby without much return. :)

Maybe next year I might make some money. :)

My day job is as a sales manager for a dietary supplement company, handling the Eastern US. It requires that I travel about 10 days a month.

When I'm home, I help my husband Steve run Jungle Mist Reptiles (retail), along with educational presentations and birthday parties.

In my *spare* time (hahahaha), I'm an officer of a non-profit organization that assists the needy families in our county.

I am a laid off mechanic doing odd jobs and temp work while looking for another MB dealership (avoiding BMW ;) Bri)

Come on Danni... I need a tech who can service my baby and not charge me an arm and a leg. ;)

And me I don't do anything that would qualify as labor. Easy desk job yelling at people is my thing. :D

day job???

Interesting topic, Karen! I am a Minister, although not full-time at my church. I do primarily volunteer work as a hospital Chaplain, work with grief support and chronically ill patients, as well as lots of weddings, memorial services and baptisms. My "other" job is a Leopard Gecko breeder which also gives me a lot of reward, and like Sasheena, it keeps my head above water and allows me to make a profit (even though small) as a little bit more than just a hobby breeder!

I just thought it would be interesting to see what kind of "real" job everyone had. Or maybe I'm kinda nosy. LOL. There are people here on this website for one reason, they like reptiles, et. al. Yet they come from all walks of life.

Just a dang Diesel Mechanic here or as others call me a greasemonkey...lol....I like it so its all good and maybe someday I will just be able to raise reptiles....Now that would be a dream come true....lmao

Car wash

I work at a car wash.....just ask Cthulhu. O.K.....I don't actually work there, but they let me hang around and pick up loose change between the seats.

Ophis...come clean. (after all, you are in a car wash) There is nothing to be ashamed of, working in a car wash. Some of Adam's best friends are car washers...(not that you are, at all...) He will sell to anyone: black, white, mexican (trades mostly there though) or carwasher. Really.

Seriously, you bested me in that verbal/written battle, and I gave you your due...now really, what do you do?

Windows?

Windows........

Thats rich man.......very rich,,,,Were going to get warned with all this cross talk.

I work for myself. I have a small reptile exhibit on South Padre Island. Basically, people pay me to come see my snakes and I get to talk about them. It's very rewarding and alot of fun. The location is an added bonus. I'm 3 minutes from the beach. It's also January and I'm wearing shorts!

I also breed, trade, and sell my animals to supplement my income, in addition to having my hand in a few other cookie jars. I never really liked the idea of working for other people and dealing with on the job politics, so I prefer to work surviving by my own wits.

I get to stay home with my kids and herps. My husband does all the money making for now... until my herp collection ages and grows so I can start breeding and then someday maybe make a profit from them.
