    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I finished the nine beautiful acrylic cages I have been making today. I will move the critters in this afternoon, after I am sure that all traces of the acrylic glue are dissipated. They are beautiful, however, in making them I have learned a few points I would like to pass on:

Weld-on 16 is an incredibly powerful glue made for bonding acrylic. It does that VERY well. However, it does not bond to ordinary plastic. I had to change my plans and use fasteners for part of the hinges because of that.

Even expensive 3/8" acrylic sheet bows slightly. This cause problems in the lower two doors closing correctly (they are stacked 3 high).

Making cages is not a lark. I am pleased with the way they look, but they took much more time than I anticipated.

I have received lots of good advice, and by far the best website with specific concrete instructions is the Clay Davenport site:

Me too, I want to see pictures. I'm making a simple rack system myself after I saw one posted on here about a month or so ago.

Here is a pic. The new cages are stacked on the bottom left.
I just now got them in place, so do not have all the accessories in. Nine cages using 3/8" acrylic cost about $700 in materials so they were not cheap, but the pic does not do them justice, they are just show off gorgeous (if I do say so myself) and extremely sturdy.

The other side of the room contains a few more birds and snakes and my huge beautiful solid mahogany desk, found for $50 and refinished.

The room will be finished in a few days and will be a wonderful comfortable haven for me and the critters. :D

Lucille I am so happy for you! Could you post better pictures though? I wanna see how they go together. Now that I know it's possible to make my own acrylic cages I will be starting to make some!!

One thing I love about the new photogallery, is that it contains the exact link you need to use to post on a message! I took the liberty, Lucille, of grabbing that link... here's Lucille's new cages... for those who aren't big on clicking links:

Thank you Sasheena. I have to admit it was the Teen who snapped the photos, when I can slow him down long enough to get a few more I will post them!
