In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So is Darkness really that bad?

OK I was going to go see this movie. However after reading some of the ratings on Yahoo movies, I'm not so sure. So has anyone on here seen this movie? Or is it OK at see at a $3.50 matinee (believe it or not I know where one of those still exists) or should this be avoided at all costs? Thanks for the comments or warnings. :)

I've had people tell me that too. It didn't have much in the way of advertising and there are limited showings at the theatre. All bad signs. I think I'll wait to get it free from the library. :)

That was Grudge... which I didn't see but... Buffy the Vampire Slayer was *entertaining* television near it's finest. I have the following explaination. It's related. I promise.

People often complain that WWE style wrestling is "fake" and utilize this as a basis for ascribing a value to it. They fail to understand that it is not only fake, but supposed to be fake and if one accepts this from the begining, it has value as a source of entertainment. They don't complain that ballet is "fake" or that dramatic movies are "fake" they simply accept it as an intrinsic aspect of it and enjoy it anyway without in depth analysis.

There's a LOT of action/sci-fi/fantasy style movies and television which needs to be approached in the same way. If one goes into it and starts yelling about physics and 100% true to life dialogue and reactions then it won't be enjoyable at all. If one looks at it as a way to kill an hour, it's pretty damn good.

I didn't say anything about Buffy, mostly because I never sat down and watched it, I use tv shows mostly as background noise. And if someone wants to go see Darkness because they like the sci fi genre, that's fine by me, since I'm not a box office cashier anymore.

Btw, to the original poster, the reviews on yahoo and rottentomatoes.com are horrible. Get it for free if you're going to spend time watching it ;)

"Darkness" has the cute girl fro "X-Men" in it. It looks like the average scary movie of our times.

"The Grudge" was amazing. It is a Japanese film made in English for us. At least to me who pays attention to these things, it was nothing like our American horror flicks where we have about 30 minutes of "not scary" and 10 minutes of "scary". "Grudge" was all scary all the time. It was very well put together, and the backround story of the young American couple living in Japan was also interesting in itself.

I don't think Sara Gellar is a good actress, but since the movie only required a scared girl and not a heroine, you didn't even notice ;)

Isnt white noise that new biography of Michael Moore?

hello? Is this thing on? Helllooo?

Isn't that the movie with Sarah Michelle Gellar? If so, I think that says it all... *cough* bad movie *cough*
dont be messin with my buffy the vampire slayer..... i got season 7 on dvd for christmas... i already had one... ima fixin to buy 6 and possible five and then 2-4 i will get eventually off ebay LOL
and i got space ghost coast to coast season 2 and aqua teen hunger force volume 2 Too...
i guess im easily amused but my husband digs stargate SG-1 and he is nearly 40 (good viewing as well, i might add)

white noise seems like its going to be a good movie, i study this kind of stuff "EVP" (electronic voice phenomenon) and it seems pretty accurate

darkness however..seems like more killer ghost crap

I never said sarah michelle gellar was a bad TV actress on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, only a bad actress in movies as far as I've seen. Thank you for reading this PSA.

Yep....because I'm looking at the acting style and her grasp of the whole 'acting' thing when I see her up there in something flimsy and thin..

C'mon now...let's admit she was quite foxy in The Tuxedo with JackieChan. That's the way you have to say his name, by the way. One word, said fast: "Jackiechan!"

And, if you get the reference:

"Cuz they're fast!!" :D

I really get into paranormal study. EVP's are interesting and disturbing at the same time. Do you check out Ghoststudy.com Thier forum has been down with problems, but they have a great photo gallery that has new pics added monthly. Here's an idea. There's a cryptozoology thread here at Fauna. I would like to see a Paranormal thread.

And The Grudge was freakin creepy! :bolt01:

i check ghoststudy.com every month for new pics, although "orbs" do nothing for me

you should check out The-atlantic-paranormal-society.com

i have over 8 EVP recordings just from my living room along :D

I'll check out that site.
8 EVPs. Good Lord, I'm afraid to check for anything where I live. If I did pick up anything that would be the last night of sleep I would have. :bolt01:
So what do you think of TV ghosts? They really intrigue me.
And yeah Orbs do nothing for me either.

Oh for anyone who hasn't seen it. The Eye is another really creepy Asian horror movie. I heard they are making an Americanized version of it. If you can find the Asian original, check it out.

i dont know what to think about TV ghosts

but i guess its possible, since they can communicate through electronic devices, i think much research still needs to be done on that subject

8 EVP's from my living room 2 from my hallway and 3 from my parents bedroom, all seperate voices :D

creeped me out at first, but im used to it
