    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I visited the S.C. website this evening. I looked to see if the effort to drop the Eastern Indigo from it's native species list had been successful, and apparently it has. Drymarchon Couperi was not present. I sent an inquirey to confirm this, but I had a conversation with someone from their Conservation Department a couple years ago who told me that's what he was trying to do. It looks like he succeeded. The basis for this was the argument that no one could actualy prove that the Indigo Snake had ever been there. At least not in recent history.

If this is all true, then I would suspect that the laws concerning the possesion, breeding, and selling of this species should have changed as well. I have submited an inquirey, and I will post the results when I hear back from them.

I've talked to some guys in SC that were working on getting them removed from the SC protected list. Hopefully it's worked!

Yup, if it went the way I hoped it would,... that's one less state that I can't move to. Ultimatly I'd like to be able to live wherever I want with my Indigos.

Good luck moving to Florida. One of my only regrets about moving here was that I had to give up my indigos. I sent a copy of my price list to Florida Game and Fish before I moved down to Florida and asked for their comments. The only one they made a note about was the Eastern Indigos. They just made the comment "Make sure you don't have these in your possession when you cross the Florida state line."

I just heard back from S.C. Here is the e-mail in it's entirety. Looks like it's still just wishful thinking.

Anthony: We are proposing removal of the indigo snake from our official list, but this will require legislative action, and I can't guarantee that it will happen this year. Until that time possession in SC would require a state permit and we're only issuing those to people/institutions that do legitimate outreach and education. That will change if the specie is removed from the list ... but I can't give you a good time frame for that happening.
